Hi everyone,

I finally feel justified in joining in here after an ultrasound today that confirmed I'm roughly 7w (7w1d by LMP, 6w6d by today's scan which is in line with when I think I ovulated).

It is kind of surreal after 20 months TTC - hard to believe it's actually happening... was nice to see the heartbeat on our little blurry blob :)

Is anyone else struggling with nausea? I have bouts of nausea and retching off and on all day (and have had for the last 9 days), and am so intensely tired and out of it in the afternoon. I feel like a wimp because I haven't even actually thrown up yet, but it's really knocking me around! Don't know how I'll cope at work for the next 5-6 weeks (or longer... just hope I feel better by then). I am trying the 'eating a little bit every hour' approach today and it seems to be helping, but I am now feeling annoyed about having to eat all the time! Gah.

Nice to meet you all and hear your stories - congrats to everyone too!

Hi everyone, I am cautiously joining this group :). Got an unexpected bfp yesterday on my second day of missed period, when I'm generally as regular as clockwork.

This will be pregnancy number 6 with only 2 live children so I'm trying to play it very cool for now. I had a partial molar pregnancy last October so I wasn't even supposed to try again until April, but one silly single night seems to have put paid to that 😣. We were even talking about stopping with the 2 we already have so it's thrown us for a bit of a loop!

Oh hun....im so sorry to hear you have had such a long and hard journey.....but maybe this is meant to be!!! Yay!!
All the best vibes to you!

Haven't had too much nausea yet, the odd minor wave, although couldn't really eat dinner last night coz tummy wasn't feeling great!

What's hitting me now that I'm back at work is the afternoon fatigue. My god. Tiredness that can't be explained. So today I'm going to try and gym at lunchtime, I didn't go yesterday after work, I went home and napped instead haha!

Nice one Sugar Girl! I really hope to remain active for as long as possible - and at least walking when other exercise gets harder! I usually do spin / circuit / cross classes. Do a bit of running and some sport as well. I said I'd go along to a running session tomorrow evening, will see how I feel heh.

Got bloods back today and everything's normal  Scan on Friday.

Well done Sugar Girl and Lefloof - I can just about get home, make dinner and collapse on the couch! I find a walk at lunch helps with the afternoon snoozies but it's been too hot the last few days.

I made it to the gym at lunch! Woohoo! I think I'm just going to have to adjust my normal routine of exercising after work to earlier in the day. It's just not going to happen with this afternoon/ evening tiredness - I'm right there with you Daffy! Couch and bed haha.

Good luck for your scan Friday - keep us updated! x

Hey everyone

I finally feel confident(ish) to join, got the BFP a couple of weeks ago but due to past disasters i am very tentative to even start to believe this will turn out ok.

Fourth pregnancy for me, 1 live child.......had a pregnancy in 2015 that we ended up having to terminate at 16 weeks due to fetal abnormalities and then last year had a molar pregnancy and D & C after TTC for over a year.  Specialist cleared us to start trying again in November and obvs got preggers in December woohoooo!!!

Due date of approx 8th September but specialist won't let me go for a dating scan until 30th January to ensure i will see a heartbeat if everything is ok as she doesn't want there to be any doubt around if it is too early to see anything after our previous issues - i get it but it is damn hard waiting lol

Have had three lots of bloods done and HCG is rising perfectly, Progesterone was borderline though so doc started me on progesterone pessaries which boosted my last reading to well over where she wanted to see it so is very happy with how everything is going - phew!

Anyway fingers crossed for sticky baby's and i look forward to going through this journey with you all!

Welcome and congrats to all the newcomers.

Feeling pretty lousy and holy heck the old (  .  )(  .  ) hurt like heck. I only stopped b/feeding 2 months ago so they've gone a bit nuts.

Doctors tomorrow just for dating scan referral.

I'm getting progessively tired this week and today I was in the middle of a lecture, got really hungry where no amount of water would make feel less hungry and then experienced a wave of nausea but didn't throw up.

I snoozed last night for 2 hours.... then couldn't sleep later.

I've made myself a fruit salad as a snack tomorrow just in case I feel an overwhelming urge to puke / get hungry.

I have so many fears after my miscarriage.

Doctors appointment on the weekend and I guess I'll get a dating scan in a week or so.

And who gives it to you?

Welcome to everyone new, fingers crossed for us all. Sugar Girl your GP should be able to sort you out with all that?

Went to my GP this morning, all my blood tests etc came back great. Ive been referred to the midwife / antenatal group at our local hospital, they should take things from here, and give me a call before I get to 12 weeks. I'm going through the public system and I have heard good things, which is nice!

I'm going on another overseas trip right around the end of first tri, so I'm going to get the harmony test before I go (after 10 weeks), then detailed scan as soon as I get back, where I'll be close to 14 weeks. Excited - nervous!

I'm going public too, Lefloof - my local hospital offers continuity of care with a midwife, which hopefully I'll be able to get into. If not then I like the idea of the midwife clinic rather than an obstetrician. It's silly but it sounds friendlier!

Also for those needing snacks - I've found pretzels really good. Salty and carby (my main requirements right now!), portable and filling. Also less gluey than rice crackers.

Hey guys :)

I got my BFP today!! I thought we were completely out this month as we started using OPK's and they were negative for 10 days straight so was not expecting a BFP at all. AF was due on Tuesday and I'm like clockwork so this morning I thought I'd grab a test and just see but didn't expect anything to show at all! Line came up straight away even with a middle of the day urine :) so I'll be due on the 27th Sep.

We already have 6 kiddies (3 each from previous marriages), so trying to keep it from them will not be easy! We are so excited to have one together :)

I look forward to getting to know you all along our journey :)

Hi everyone!
Hubby and I have three little ones and have just found out we're expecting #4. We'd talked about one more in a couple of yrs but not decided anything as yet but the universe had other ideas... It took a little bit of planning and trying for all three of our babies with a couple of mc in between so this was defiantly an unexpected but exciting surprise.
Wishing every happy healthy and uneventful pregnancies x

Welcome everyone!

So I had my dating scan today and measured 5.5 weeks with a heartbeat of 113. That's earlier than I thought and  now I'm worried because my hcg levels were consistent with 7-8 weeks - but is that because they count from date of last period while the scan is from conception (so to speak)? Can anyone shed light on this?

ETA my new EDD is 17 Sept

Hcg has such a large range that it's often pretty meaningless. My dr doesn't even request hcg levels unless there's an issue or miscarriage. Does the 5.5 weeks line up with your lmp? The scan uses measurements which are quite consistent across pregnancies in the first trimester. However, tiny errors in measurement can give date variations too.

I'm off to the GP today for initial bloods etc. I'm requesting hcg this time because of the partial molar last time but I'm going to hold off on a dating scan as long as I can to avoid any angst about viability etc. If they let me that is, as I've also had a ruptured ectopic in the past. I'm definitely requesting a private ob this time, I thought I'd give the public system a go last time but they managed my D&c so badly that I don't think I can trust them again. Hopefully the ob that delivered my 2 boys is still taking patients!

Thanks Crombek. My lmp was actually a very early miscarriage so my doctor says it's not accurate, hence the scan. Counting from the first day of my lmp would be 7.5 weeks now. Hence why I'm worried!
