Hi All,
We are expecting our first baby late April, my company doesn't have a maternity policy and we're hoping we'd be eligible for the government parental leave scheme.

Ii have yet to still do my tax return from 2015/2016, but will my income means test for parental leave be based on this?.

Only reason i ask is my income situation has significantly changed for 2016/2017 so not sure which year they'll use to assess eligibility.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!.

Thanks in advance!

Generally it is the financial year before baby is born. So 15/16 for a baby born in 16/17.

It's the previous full financial year prior to birth so if Bub is due April it will be the 15/16 FY
