I found the thread from January really useful and I felt like I was being made accountable, so I'm going to do it again.

If you're not familiar with it, basically you declutter the number of items of the date. So today being the first, means one item goes.

#1 - pink toddler Santa hat

Good on you. It's so tempting to hold on to stuff for ages  trying to sell it – often for only a few dollars.  good on you being realistic!

How's the decluttering going. I decided to join in but have modified the system since getting to the twenties days. I now just chose something to clean out once a day. Yesterday it was clean out a wardrobe. This weekend's target is to sort out books to donate to a charity.

Thanks for the inspiration!

Jumping in with my modification for this month! I have a 'study' that's approx 2m x 3m and has a desk and bookshelves and a whole load of crap in it (to the point where you can't step in past the doorway without stepping on anything).

Needed to get to the back corner of the room so I could get the ethernet cable (my partner needs one at her house and I don't need this one any more).

So I pulled everything out of the room yesterday (except the desk and shelves) and put it in the dining room. Got access to the cable (it runs under the house to another room at the front of the house).

The damn cable has been cemented in to the house stump!!

Instead of seeing it as doing all that for nothing, I'm taking it as the perfect opportunity to sort through all the stuff I pulled out and deal with it instead of just chucking it all back in.

I'd like to have it done by the end of the month, but being realistic about it, as long as I do something each night, then I'm happy with it taking a week or so.

Well done to everyone who's decluttering to whatever capacity .. it's a pain in the bum to do, but soo rewarding.
