I had the Mirena inserted 5 weeks ago and I've been grumpy as anything ever since. It's like a bad pms but all the time. I'm also having some poor MH stuff - feeling like I'm worthless. I recognise that's what's going on but that doesn't stop the feelings.

I've had some hip pain that's pretty uncomfortable and affecting sleep too but I can handle that more than the feelings.

Has anyone experiences of this you could share? Does it clear up after a while? I have my 6-week check next week and I feel like getting it out already but I'm not sure if it's just a usual adjustment period.

I’m getting the mirena put in next week. I have had a long history of heavy periods and awful pms mood swings. The GP did warn me that it would probably take 6 months before I would settle down symptom wise.  Definitely chat to the doctor at your 6 week check up, or your regular dr sooner about how you are feeling.  I hope you start feeling better soon.

I had such bad PMS for my first cycle on Mirena that I felt like murdering family members! Still not great for the second cycle, but both times only for a few days. I'm coming up on the third cycle soon so we'll see if it is lessening. But I am definitely finding all the symptoms are easing very slowly. The GP will probably tell you to hang in there, as with all things female and reproductive!
