39 degrees today. The heat is glorious!! I installed a sprinkler system, kids are outside playing with a bucket of water, everyone seems happier. I got to wear shorts and a T-shirt all day.  No socks! No shoes! I feel free!

Too bad it won’t last. (Melbourne weather, going to be 19 tomorrow. Sigh. Put those socks and shoes back on)

We have a newer one but DH bought it after I cracked it with not being able to get all the washing done in 1-2 days. We got the extra big one. I love that I can fit 3 loads of my 10kg washing machine on there. And really if I have more enough will be day by then to make room.

I’m happy because there is only another 4 days of school to get through.

I need to buy more pegs and coat hangers! It's going to make life so much easier by just putting it straight away instead of hanging in the dryer-basket because I'm too lazy to deal with folding.

Another win,the bathrooms were quite grimy and soap scummy - a scrub with bi carb and vinegar and they are shiny!

LM, you and I are on the same page there, yesterday was my idea of heaven. I love the heat.

DD spent the morning in her new class for next year.

I'm happy because DD is happy that she got the teacher that she really really wanted (which was just luck because our school doesn't take requests).

And I'm happy because I'm happy that DD is not in a class with the friend I would rather her spend less time with and she is in the class with the friend who I would rather her spend more time with (again, just luck... or maybe her teacher this year noticing the same positive and negative dynamics that I did).

Christmas decorating and present buying is almost done. I have a few little things to pick up on Friday and a couple of parcels still coming but I feel organised.

Class lists came out today. DD has two of the three children we requested in her class next year. She's sad that the third one isn't in her class again but we'll try to keep fostering that friendship outside of class time.

Just family fun tonight. DS2 bought a pair of dreadful slides so there was lighthearted teasing at dinner. Then later I was holding my phone and an ad popped up on FB for find a local plumber so I held the phone out over him and beeped, "here's one"! HIs eyeroll was epic.  Just silly stuff but we do have fun together and I love having them here still

DD is falling asleep in my arms.

It's hot, sweaty and I have 5% battery but after my emotional day, I am reminded of savouring the little things.

Rain. 129mm in the past two hours. Thunder, lightning, hail, wind, and rain just pouring down. A good old fashioned thunderstorm at the end of a hot day. It's now a lovely 19 C.

DS has his best friend in his class next year & a teacher who's teaching style will really suit him (very directed learning).

Oh my. I just got treated to a kitchen dance to rocking around the Christmas tree by Youngest. He came running in saying "that's my song!!" Then did the dance from the concert to it. Well that just made my day!!!

I love days like that. And that smell in the air just before the rain hits - magic.

I've been helping in 6yo DS's classroom this week. This morning, one of the little girls gave me a wristband which she'd drawn a heart on, and another little girl drew me a special picture with all my favourite things, with the words 'I love you osskwoll (Ozquoll)" on it ☺️. What sweet kids! Absolutely made my day.

Two post in a row for me!

I did something today that has been playing on my mind. Can’t go into detail as it to identifying but a weight has been lifted off my shoulder and a burden unloaded.

DS got a great school report, so proud of him! And our days and times for speech therapy are continuing next year, which is a relief, as it's currently very convenient.

1. Air-con in my car has been fixed, just in time for the heatwave 👍

2. Dinner included potatoes I grew myself 😀

3. My little DS (6yo, with ASD) spent most of his school breaks today playing with a boy I've long thought would be a good friend for him. DS enjoyed himself greatly, and the two of them made plans to continue their game (hunting for gold 🤩) tomorrow. Socialising doesn't come naturally to DS, so this is really lovely news.

The cat is staring out the door at a a bird. And I went to my tea shop, so I have Australian bushfire tea. It is the last day of school. Ds seems happy about his teacher next year.

Kids are actually playing nicely together for once and can hear them playing with lego in next room. Ds2 is a bit painful at moment (5yo!) and his chosen lego person is a little duck he's calling 'little ducky Friday'.  So cute.

My DD gets her cast off today!
She broke her arm really badly - open fracture and snapped both bones; her arm looked like Harry Potter's. She's done so well so fingers crossed everything looks good today.

Last day of school! yippee!

got a DHL notification that my last package for the christmas tree is due to arrive in Friday - cutting it a bit fine but DHL are usually spot on with their delivery dates. so that’s good.
