Hi Everyone,

I need to take my sister bathers shopping for an upcoming holiday. I'm not exactly sure what size she is as she used to be a size 22 but has gained weight over the last six months.

She can be quite prickly when she feels self-conscious and also had a partial mastectomy several years ago so normally wears a special chicken fillet type thing (I can't remember what is called) in her bra on a normal way.  She may choose not to do this in her bathers though because if it floated  away she would be mortified.

So I am in Melbourne and I'm thinking in store would be better unless there was an online store that specialised in the chicken fillet thing.

So does anyone have any suggestions.

I felt very comfortable here and they had a good range (I went to the Malvern store)

Thanks for the link.  There was a special "Swim Breast Form" that is chlorine resistant.  I am pretty sure she doesn't know they exist.

There are mastectomy bathers that have sewn in pockets that you insert your swim breast form into so that it doesn’t float away.

There are specialist breast cancer lingerie stores that have these types of bathers but you can also get them at swimming centres as well. This is a link to a store I use as I am in Perth. You may have difficulty with size as I don’t know many places that go above a 22/24 but if you called the store I have linked they should be able to offer suggestions for where to get larger sizes from.

Swimwear Galore is also on Brunswick St. Its a pretty large store.
My mum usually visits them every 2 yrs when she's visiting family in Australia,  purely for the variety of styles and sizes in the plus size range.  And because she haa one size F (or larger?)  boob and the other was a masectomy, so needs a fillet.
They always manage to find something for her.

I always shop at Swimgalore on Brunswick Street.  If you go on a Tuesday or Wednesday they're less busy.

Another vote for Swimwear Galore! I've been to their Brunswick St store, but I am sure they are all as well stocked.

Possibly the easiest shopping experience for swimwear I've had.

Pricey but seriously personal attention, and very private:

Hickory Dock in Camberwell.

Haven't used them personally, but used to take the elderly mother of a friend for her bra fittings after she'd had a mastectomy. She was a big lady, with limited mobility and they had all the time in the world for her.
