I am desperate and don’t know where to turn for help.

i have a document wallet full of all our important documents and I can’t find anywhere . I have tried all the logical places with no luck.

Can anyone please please help me?

Don;t just look.  Put your hands on everything you come across in  your search.

What colour's the folder?  How thick is it?   How far might it have travelled?  How many people have handled it?  Has it been out of the house?  How long since you've seen it?

Go through what you've been doing in recent days - idiotic things like laundry.   Check the bedding.  Down the back of the sofa.   Have you been tidying up?

Good luck.

all documents are replaceable. Don’t fret if you can’t find them. It’s a hassle but replaceable.

Check the top of all cabinets. On top of fridges. Check down the back of bookcases. Behind all cabinets. Check every folder. Be slow and methodical.

Have you packed anything way recently? Unpacked winter clothes from a box or put a doona away?
Check between the wall and bed, book cases, tallboys, desks etc.

Go through your drawers - I often seem to hide things in clothing drawers then forget them.

Look on top of all your bookcases. Things can hide up there

With my daughter's skate pads?

When did you last have them in your hands?  What else was going on at the time?  Were you gathering a pile?

I last saw in August at home when I took one thing out.

We have ripped apart our bedroom and study.

We have opened other files, looked in any type of storage container we have, looked behind/under/on top of furniture, on top of furniture, checked all the luggage we took on last trip

I know we can replace but gee it’s going to be costly

What was it you took out?

Is that document still around somewhere?

Do you remember putting it back?

Did you take the whole folder out of its storage place, or just take the document out and leave the folder behind?

Look behind drawers. I’ve lost things behind them. As in, they’ve been in the drawer, gotten caught as I’ve opened it and ended up behind the actual drawer and the furniture unit.

I know you're looking for someone with psychic abilities and I'm definitely not that person  But... check in the top of a wardrobe. I've lost count of the number of times I've found important things at the top of my wardrobe. I can only assume I 'hide' important things there whenever I have strangers in the house, like when we recently had some renos done. Thing is, I never remember putting things there and DH swears it wasn't him.

The fact that they were important documents makes me wonder if someone hid them deliberately rather than carelessly misplaced them.

Oh, I've just realised which section this is in ...

Sorry, OP, no help on that front either.

The folder will turn up as soon as you replace all the documents with new ones.  Isn't that usually the way?

I took out my little girls passport as Id for travel. I have that. We took the whole file out and I thought I left it on hubbys desk to put away. I don’t believe we took with us.
He doesn’t have many hidey holes and we looked through all of them today.
It’s just so frustrating as it will cost us over $1000 to replace everything.

Have you moved furniture?
Have you lifted drawers out of their homes to see if it has slipped down the back but still inside the furniture?
Have you looked through every file container/sleeve, paper by paper?
What else did you do at that time? Did you scan it or photograph it? Could it be in the printer area?
Where did you put the passport once you removed it? Did you take it there, like into your DD's room etc?

Unfortunately checked all the above. It’s just so annoying as I am sure it’s got to be in the house somewhere...unless we have accidentally thrown out :(

When you pulled apart the study, where did you temporarily store the things?

Or

Is it perhaps on a shelf in the garage?
