Hi Everyone!

I had my 20 wk scan the other day, I haven't got any official results yet. The rational side of me says it will be fine, the irrational side of me is a little concerned...

Question- at the ultrasound the sonographer scanned MY kidneys... Has anyone else had this at their 20 wk scan? Others I have spoken to says this is strange and didn't have theirs scanned... I have no idea why they needed to do this. Any ideas?

Maternal kidneys are often scanned.
It may not be pointed out by the sonographer though.

If you’ve heard nothing then presume all is well.

kidneys are not often point out being scanned. It is normal though. They’re checking the flow, it lets them know how your body is coping with pregnancy.

If there were any issues they would have been raised straight away or at least in the following few days when your OB receive your results.

As PP above said presume all is well and there is nothing to telly you. If you are still concerned a call to your OB couldn't hurt.
