I’ve been a migraine sufferer for a long time. I recall having headaches with nausea in my early teens (I thought it was normal).
When I was younger nurofen was enough but as I have got older I generally only find pandadine or nurofen plus works. I have hypothyroidism which is under control and low iron stores for which I’m taking iron supplements.
My migraines are always worst at that time of the month - they were also terrible during IVF and pregnancy so I suspect that they are triggered in part by hormones.
I’ve always just bought codine based pain killers to get on with it as I have a 16 month old and I work full time. My GP isn’t happy with a box of panadine forte a month (taking one rather than two panadine/panadine extra) as she says it is not good control. Personally I think In part I probably need sleep and rest but I don’t have time for that lol.
I’m on sertraline for PND so can’t take maxalt which my mum uses for her migraines.
My doctor said switching from Levlen ED to Seasonique might reduce my migraines. Has anyone tried this?
