Hi everyone,

My son (2.5)  is starting 2 days a week of childcare next year in January.

I am currently discussing with my old workplace that I am hoping to start work the first week of Feb so that he has a month of shorter days at care to get used to it etc.

Am I eligible for the child care subsidy during that time? I have not worked since my son was born.

We have to pay a deposit plus 3 weeks of fees upfront so im not sure how it all works.

Thank you for your help

I don’t think you’ll be eligible for CCS until you’re working. If you were on mat leave I believe you would, but 2.5 years later I don’t think you will.

Thank you :)

Weavile I used the calculator and it said I would be eligible for 40hours subsidised care a fortnight based on my working 20 hours a fortnight

I might need to go back to work when he starts if thats the case

thank you for your help
