Just wondering how many months of trying it took to get your bfp? I know it can take some time at our age and just wanted to stay positive

I'm not sure whether telling you is going to make you feel better or worse!
Thing is, the figures are averages, and no woman is an average. For every woman whose fertility disappears early 'on average', there's another who can get pregnant at 45.
Personally, first month we tried at 38 (no previous children, but late to menopause family history); sister, fist month she tried at 44 (fifth child); closest friend, first month off the pill at 44 (first child). These are people I'm close to, but of course I don't know about any who tried and failed.
I do know of someone for whom it was too late at 35. My MIL had early menopause at 40.
Fertility starts to drop significantly ten years prior to menopause, so a crystal ball would be handy.

I will say that a BFP is not necessarily a happy ending, so be prepared for that, and every miscarriage can take 3-6 months or more out of your pregnancy journey, something I hadn't really factored in!
Here's my stats, all natural conception, and my husband is 3.5 years older than me:
Pregnancy 1 - Aged 35, three cycles, not really trying just went off the pill. Miscarried D&C at 11 weeks.
Pregnancy 2 - Aged 36, three cycles, actively TTC. Miscarried Partial Molar Pregnancy D&C at 11 weeks. Banned from TTC for 6 months post surgery.
Pregnancy 3 - Aged 37-38, about 15 cycles, actively TTC. Healthy full term baby aged 38.
Pregnancy 4 - Aged 39, 2 cycles, actively TTC but breasfeeding baby now about 6-7 months old. Miscarried D&C at 12 weeks. Banned from TTC for 3 months post surgery.
Pregnancy 5 - Aged 39, first try BAM!!! Currently aged 40 and 26 weeks along with a healthy pregnancy.
So, with the exception of the long time TTC after the PMP, I've had little trouble getting BFPs despite my age. I believe my body shut down a little after the PMP and it took quite a long time to recover and decide it was into baby making again.
It's the time lost to an unviable pregnancy, recovery, and banned from TTC, that I found extremely frustrating, and a rollercoaster ride. I feel for those who have trouble just getting that BFP in the first place.
