I found mine three years after I thought I'd lost it, in the middle zippy bit in a bag I don't use much. And had looked in about a million times before!

Oh boy this is the second time today someone has lost something important in their house.
It does make you rather frantic in your searching.
As per the other thread (Qak's) we lost our passports while overseas for a couple of hours, and found them somewhere we'd already looked twice.
I can only suggest, with the places that you're looking not just searching through, but taking everything out and putting back unit by unit.

Down behind desks.
Drawers full of random crap, particularly in and around kitchen.
Where would be have put it down when he got home from last overseas holiday? Shelf? Between books? Wardrobe? Under socks? Bedside drawer? Pocket? Laundry?
Has he had to show identity documents for anything like Centrelink? Could it be in some finance folders?

I’m not psychic but mine is usually located in the inner pocket of a rarely used jacket or bag.

He took it to the bank to get it witnessed for super forms and then it vanished. He swears he didn't lose it at the shops but I cannot find it anywhere.

I think (felt?) in the pocket of a dark coloured jacket.

If no car, where does he automatically dump stuff when he comes home?

I lost mine under very similar circumstances, and only realised the morning of an afternoon overseas flight. I was frantic. The last I could remember was having it at the post office. I then remembered that I had gone shopping for clothes straight after. I then remembered I had a bag of shopping shoved away in a cupboard.....sure enough there was the passport. Try to have a think about where he went after the bank.

Down the side of the fridge.
Back of the hall table.
Back drawer of a side table.
Somewhere close to where he stashes his keys.
Full disclosure: I have no psychic abilities... good luck x

I have no psychic abilities but the day before I was to leave for an overseas trip I turned the house upside down looking for mine. I eventually found it between the wide leg of my office desk and the wall. It had slipped down there after falling out of my over-full admin ‘inbox’.
Any luck yet?

Under the car seat? May have slid off if he put it on the passenger seat when heading home?

Where did he go after the bank? Where are the super records?

If not - ask St Anthony for help! - Patron St of lost things... seriously works :-)

After the bank he came home. It was in a plastic bag with other important paperwork so we are really looking for a bag not just the passport.
I have no idea how this has happened as he is usually so careful.

Possibly slipped under the seat in the car?
- Call the bank in case it was left?

Did he go anywhere else after the bank?
Have you called the bank?
What else did he have with him apart from the bag?
Where were his car keys.
Did he go to the bathroom as soon as he got home and leave it somewhere near there?
Under the front seat in the car?
