You ladies are really too kind to remember and think of me, it’s a really nice feeling, thank you.

We got the call unexpectedly on Wednesday evening, a week early, that we have 3 normal embryos! It’s still a huge drop from hearing 12 fertilized to now having 3, but I feel lucky to even have any, so I’m not complaining, I just wish we had more, which I think lots of us have probably felt during the ivf stages.

One of the affected had mosaic turners, and one had an extra piece of chromosome 7, which I’ve since read is highly correlated with autism, amongst other things, so it’s just interesting to know.

More importantly, my fs said that my nkc blood test and endometrial biopsy (which I actually didn’t know she even took, but am so glad she did), both showed I have high nkc, so we’re going to start on prednisone and add clexane after transfer next month. Of course I hop on google and the first result says treating it is useless, but I’ve heard so many anecdotes from women going through it, that I hope maybe this is why it hasn’t worked until now, and maybe it’ll be what we need to get success!

Bumble - that’s kind of fun going back to basics! You never know, hopefully it works!

Beaches 3 embryos is great well done! Best of luck with your transfer next month and so glad your FS is onto it all! It’s hard not to google huh! That’s all I did in my first week when I got my 1/2 uterus result, and the same with this first miscarriage. I’m a person that likes to know about it all though...it sounds like you are too!

Bumble, my FS was going to look at blood tests I think for clotting issues or something (I’m not really sure at this stage, I didn’t ask any questions about that) we had genetic screening already, I’m not sure what else he’ll suggest, but we have a follow up next week so I’ll get some specifics then.
Good luck trying naturally this month! Fingers crossed for a ‘free’ baby 🤞🙂

Beaches 3 perfect embryos is awesome!! :) good work! I’ve read so many success stories with the treatment of high nkc, yep lots of googling here too lol sounds like we might be transferring around similar times :)

Pickle, a friend of mine kept losing her bubs around the 6-11week mark and it was something to do with clotting. Once they figured that out and treated it she had her rainbow :) hopefully If anything pops up it’s nice and easy to treat 🤞

We had our appointment today for FET, should be starting the cycle in 8-10ish days. Signed the paperwork to do a second cycle straight after in case this first one doesn’t work. I’m just still scared I have an immune issue that hasn’t been properly investigated so not sure if I would want to go straight into a second transfer but I guess we will cross that bridge if/when we get to it.

Beaches 3 normal embryos is a fantastic result, well done! When is your transfer scheduled for? xx

Bumble so exciting you are starting your FET soon!  I look forward to reading your updates! xx

Thanks for asking after me Pickle, I'm so sorry to read your news, I hope you're doing ok xx

I had my 7 week scan on the 16th and all was looking good (just the one in there Bumble!) so I'm crossing everything things continue that way.  Still nervous every day.  I've been officially discharged from my FS and met with my OB late last week.

I wish everyone here the very best of luck and I'm looking forward to keeping an eye on your updates and reading your good news.  Thank you so much for all your support of me, it's meant the world to me xxx

Congrats on finally graduating Peebs ☺️ so happy your scan went well and I wish you nothing but the best for the rest of your pregnancy 😍 I hope I have some good news for you end of Sep and need your advice on new topics 🤞 I hope you can start to relax soon and enjoy seeing that bump start to pop 😘 xxx

Beaches, that's fantastic news about your three good embies. I hear you that you always would like a higher number but three tested is fantastic as you always have even better odds with a tested embryo. :-)

Pickle, great idea to get some tests done. It will be interesting to see if anything shows up from them xx

Bumble, exciting to hear that you are about to start an FET cycle. For me I found it the best part of the whole ivf process as you actually get a result at the end of it! xx

Peebs, so happy for you that everything went well for your 7 week scan. It's been so good having you around here but at the same time I'm glad that you are moving on to an exciting new phase. Please check in every once in a while and let us know how you are going. xx

I'm going to do another stim cycle in October to try and get at least one other good embryo before going forward to do another transfer. My fs is going to double my dose of intralipids ( used to suppress immunity) for the next transfer as he thinks that it's my 'hostile' immune system which is stopping the embryo from implanting.

#757 Bumbleflop

That sounds like a good plan bunny ☺️ I wish there was more research and information about the immune system and how it affects fertility. Fingers crossed doubling up the dose works wonders!

A bit of a gross question but it just occurred to me. I start oestrogen pessaries next cycle and from what I understand it might even start before AF has finished. Can you use tampons with pessaries? Can u keen using them to stop anything dribbling out until FET day?

#758 Bunnytum

Posted 29 August 2019 - 12:06 PM

Hey Bumble, from memory I think it’s advised not to use tampons because they can make you prone to infections .... which is the last thing you want before FET, but don’t quote me on that xx

#759 Bumbleflop

Posted 29 August 2019 - 02:18 PM

Oh god..haha I definitely need to ask the nurses then 😫 pads and my work uniform just don’t mix 😒 lucky my AF is only 2-4 days!!

#760 Pickle14

Posted 29 August 2019 - 04:48 PM

Hey bumble I know what you mean! I’ve had to go to pads through all of this at different times - first time in so so long! But I’ve also found period undies fabulous! Might be a good alternative? I have modi bodi, but I think there are others too. Good luck xx

#761 Bumbleflop

Posted 29 August 2019 - 06:33 PM

Oh Pickle I’ve been looking at them! Haven’t quite pulled the trigger to buy though. Would they be ruined if any of the pessaries leaked out?

#762 Pickle14

Posted 29 August 2019 - 06:50 PM

I think they are ok if you just rinse them before you wash ( and not too long after wearing) But I’ve had the progesterone pessaries, I’m not sure if it is any different with oestrogen?

#763 Bumbleflop

Posted 05 September 2019 - 04:15 PM

If anyone is still around I’m CD2 today for my first FET. I’ve already asked the nurses questions twice today and I’ve just come up with another but don’t wanna call them 😂
Not sure if you ladies can help?

I’m on oestrogen pessaries from today and have 16 days worth in the box. My ultrasound will be CD14 and that’s when they decide the day I trigger with the progesterone. From the day I trigger with the progesterone is that when I start the combined progesterone/oestrogen? And how many days after the trigger do I get the transfer for a 6 day blast? I was thinking it would be 6 days from the trigger but the nurse mentioned a few days after my ultrasound like CD16/17?? I’m lost with that bit?

Hope everyone is plodding along well and gearing up for new cycles to start xxx

Hey Bumble, I’m not sure sorry, my FET cycles have been without the drugs, I just had progesterone support. But once they knew that I ovulated (based on blood tests) the FET was 5 days after, for a 5 day embryo.
So I’m with you being confused! Maybe give them a call?

AFM, we met with my FS and have a few blood tests to do once AF arrives. He also sent me for an MRI to check in about my 1/2 uterus. Glad he’s thorough, and just waiting to get through the next few steps and then back into our FET with our last frozen embie.

Xx

Hey Pickle ☺️ I wish mine was a natural cycle...I’m guessing my clinic doesn’t do them as they only do transfers on particular days of the week so they want to control the cycle 😒
Did you do any blood tests yet or are the ones you have once AF arrives the ones you thought you would need to do before? An MRI sounds a bit scary but yes, love it when they are thorough ☺️

Hi all,
This is my first post in this thread. Can anyone help? I had a third specialist appointment yesterday. He gave me a trigger injection to take home and do on Saturday and then he also gave me two pregnyl injections to do on Tuesday and Thursday. Did anyone else in this thread also have the pregnyl two injections three days after the trigger injection?

I ask because the pharmacist who I bought the items off asked if I needed to do the two pregnyl injections yesterday and Tuesday, or Tuesday and Thursday next week.

Did anyone have two pregnyl injections after the trigger injection?

Thanks in advance. I really need as much support as I can get.

Tawny Frogmouth xo

Edited to add - sorry I've realised this is the wrong thread.

Sorry I’ve been a bit AWOL....

Pickle, that’s great news about your bloods and MRI, it’s good that they are so being thorough.

Bumble, I’m sure you have worked out the answer to your question by now, I have to say I found it all slightly confusing myself when I did my FET as it seemed like a very long cycle and I know that my clinic also use drugs to control the cycle so that they can fit the transfers around  the fs schedule.

I’m off to my first nurses appointment tomorrow and I  don’t know what they really do! Are there any questions you wished you had asked but didn’t because you forgot or was overwhelmed?

#769 Bumbleflop

Posted 12 September 2019 - 07:12 AM

Hey Bunny :) I’m trying to just relax and not question anymore lol the pessaries aren’t any where near as bad as I thought they would be so I’m trying to relax and be positive and just go with the flow! Will probably only last another week and then I’ll be the opposite 😂

MrsGTI 👋 totally understand the feeling of being overwhelmed! Is this appointment for the start of a cycle? If it’s for injections, take notes! Ask them to go through it over and over until u know exactly what u need to do. If scheduling is a little hectic in your life then ask questions about when blood tests and ultrasounds would be expected and how often just to give u the heads up. If it’s like my clinic, if u think of any questions later you can just call them and ask them :) good luck! Let us know how you go :)

So we our appointment and it went well. Our nurse was lovely and went through all aspects of the process very thoroughly. We can’t start just yet due to my PHI waiting period not being over yet so we’ve got 2 more natural cycles. I’ve been given the names and dosage of my meds - am I allowed to mention these?

Still processing it all, seems abit surreal still. I’ve got 6 weeks to mentally prepare myself for it all..

#771 Bumbleflop

Posted 13 September 2019 - 01:15 PM

You can mention all of your meds no worries :) are you doing IVF/ICSI or IUI? There is a lot of info to take in but try not to overthink it, you will just stress yourself out lol try and just take it all in your stride. Oh I’m stabbing my self in the gut with a needle..ok 🤷‍♀️😂 easier said than done I know 😜 are you waiting for the PHI to cover an egg collection in hospital?

I’m currently a week and a half in with the oestrogen pessaries and I must say they aren’t nearly as bad as I was thinking they would be. I feel like I’m getting thrush again though which I thought I had prior to AF and had the 6 night cream but the swab was negative when I eventually got the results 🤷‍♀️ I definitely had it though but now I’m not sure if the slight itch is thrush or from the passaries 🤦‍♀️😒 not really sure if I should just pop a pill..

Hi all, welcome MrsGTI 🙂 glad your appointment went well. I have another month or two to go before my next FET so we could be going at the same time! It does feel a bit surreal throughout this whole process, I’ve found this a great support place to download/ vent and check in on what others have experienced. Sometimes it’s nice to know that other people are going through the same thing!

Bumble, sounds like you’ve totally got the pessaries under control now!  Isn’t it good how quickly we can adapt!

Bunny hope things are well with you!

AF arrived yesterday for me, so I will get my array of blood tests sorted next week and book back in with my FS. Just another step along the way! We’ll likely wait for another month before starting again. My best friend (who has also been doing IVF) has just had a positive pregnancy! So excited for her, but it’s also hard as I really want to be there too (and sometimes feels harder because I would have been if not for the miscarriage.) anyway, just got to keep going...one step at a time

Hey Pickle ☺️ That’s awesome that your best mate has a BFP but totally get the feels of disappointment and then the guilt for feeling that! She would know how you feel though after going through IVF herself ☺️ It might get a little awkward though with baby prep talk and when she buys baby stuff...deep breaths!
Just goes to show though, IVF does work and we will be rooting for you to have better luck next time and the little bean will stick! 😘 I think this is me trying to be positive this month lol hope u r keeping busy and the time until your next transfer flys by xxx

Bumbleflop - IVF was determined by the FS. I’ve been given rekovelle, synarel and ovidrel. Yeah that’s what we’re waiting for (egg collection etc). Does anyone know how long it generally take to get results back from your partners sperm analysis? Would it be ready by Monday or does it take longer?

We had a discussion today about getting embryos tested and I think we’re going to go ahead with that too.

My husband has said he’ll inject me as his mum is diabetic and the pens are almost the same. That’s a huge relief as I wouldn’t be able to do it myself.

Did have a mini melt down this morning so I’m definitely going to take up the psychologist service.

MrsGTI- hmm the only meds that match mine are the Ovidrel. Only recommendation I can make is to ice up the injection site or get something that numbs the area before you inject! Made a huge difference to me when I started to do that.
The sperm results for us for DNA fragmentation etc were in our letterbox maybe 2 weeks after the sample was given.
I think you are in a very overwhelming stage of IVF as there is so much to learn, the nurses will guide you throughout the cycle so don’t freak if u can’t remember something :) apart from BFNs, I think where you are at is the most challenging part of fertility struggles. It gets easier :)
