Sydney helicopters

Does anyone know why there are 3-5  helicopters flying the rounds around NW sydney (maybe other areas but we are in NW so not sure about other places)

yeh we are getting them too - we are in Balmain area, on the parramatta river and i am *told* that the river is often used as a training exercise at night....the lights from the buoys act as a bit of a guide to night flying - particularly for flying from anywhere to say Westmead ....so, it could be that.

they’ve started up again....don’t see anything big breaking on twitter....

Thanks  we are not bothered as such more curious we think they are defence ones but they are low and very often!

There was a police one when i was at the school before
