I'm in need of new glasses and I really can't afford the prices of Specsavers, OPSM etc. I have a current prescription. Can anyone recommend a cheap online optical store?

Just ordered a new pair on prescription sunglasses for my husband from visiondirect.com.au
They took a while to ship, but can’t fault the quality of the lenses and the price was good for a brand name pair of frames.

I have ordered all of ours from zennioptical.com for the past ten years with no issues and they arrive within 2 weeks usually.

Dresden are great. Loads of fun colours and $49 per pair.

I get mine from clearly contacts. There are a few different lens options so the costs can vary a bit. The frames can be very cheap, I got a free pair once! (buying with another pair and still had to pay for lenses)

I like clearly contacts. I wasn’t happy with the ones I got from vision direct and it was a bit of a painful experience getting a refund.

Zenni are great, at $7 a pair I really didn't mind that they were a bit flimsy. Took a few weeks to arrive - also didn't mind!

My last glasses came from Specsavers - we have the basic level of extras cover with Defence Health, both of us got two pairs of glasses for the price of one at Specsavers and paid nothing out of pocket. It actually works out that the extras cover, spread over the year, covered the cost of the glasses.
