HI we have foxtel IQ2 or 3 and i need to upgrade as it is not working properly but we have a recording of my DD from a news story they did at her school.

How can i copy this onto DVDR or DVD. I have tried using the red white and yellow cables and a scart cable to red yellow white.

any tips or help please i dont want to lose it.

I have no idea. I sat there and recorded DD’s Taronga Zoo parade a few years ago onto the video camera just in case Foxtel screwed up.

Not sure if this helps but DH keeps on wittering about HDMI cables every time I mention  an new tv (we have some now i believe)

I think it is to connect the tv to the laptop so could you save on a laptop?

I don't think you can.  If it's just a short news story could you use your phone to record the screen of the TV while the story is playing?  I have done this for a few news stories over the years when I know that one of the kids will be on TV in a news story, pageant, etc.

Ask the news station if they can email you the snippet.

Do you have a DVD recorder with an AV input, which will record what ever is on the tv screen, so you just play the video from the iQ box and record to the recorder?
Otherwise can you record it with your phone/tablet while its on tv?

pretty sure you can't.  if the article was a news article you'd most likely be better to google and download it from their website/facebook page

It looks like it's a real challenge, even for the techy people on a forum like whirlpool

I think Foxtel have a lot of security built into their system.  We have IQ4 and we can also watch stuff through the app on our tablets but if I try to watch something on the app it won't let me cast it to the TV using Chromecast or Apple TV, just comes up with a blank screen on the TV.
