Hi All,

Looking for thoughts/opinions on Waverley Private VS Knox Private please and also any recommendations on OBs.

We have spent a long time trying to get pregnant and now thankfully I am thanks to IVF.  Spoke to my IVF Nurse today and she said I need to start looking at OBs asap and get a referral sorted out and I have no idea where to start.

I do like the look of Waverley Private (will be doing a tour shortly) and have been to Knox Private previously for a surgery.  Both are close to us.

Any thoughts/recommendations are appreciated and also OBs attached to either of these hospitals via PM please.  I would love to pick someone based on recommendation rather than me just guessing.

Thanks all xx

I delivered recently at Waverley and found it very good. Had one midwife who was not so great but she was an agency nurse rather than based there. Everyone else I dealt with from OB to anaesthetist to the special care nursery staff were fantastic.

Thanks blackcat20, no wonder I couldn't find anything on their website!  Are you able to PM me your OB?

My OB for my first was at Knox Private but they have closed. I think he only delivers at Mitcham Private now, you can PM if you want to know his name.
I'm looking at going to St John of God Berwick this time around since we moved away from the Knox area and it's too far to travel.

St John of God is lovely.
Every time a baby is born they softly play Brahm's Lullaby over the PA.

We live close to St John but I chose Waverley as I preferred a female OB and the former has very few. It is however a brand new hospital and looks very nice. No regrets going to Waverley though, especially as we needed the special care nursery.

St JOG Berwick have the same level of neonatal care as Waverley which is babies born after 32 weeks with feeding, growing and retaining temp and blood sugar issues.
I took a peek when I was there ( not in maternity of course ) but on the same floor.

I wasn't suggesting they don't, just that we found the care of the nurses in the nursery at Waverley to be fantastic.

Sorry I misread you then. I thought you were saying you were glad you chose Waverley due to it SCN.
