I was lurking on another parenting forum, that is a bit wilder than eb, and based in another country, so I’ve never ever posted ever, and there is a thread on names you like but decided against because they were too “quirky”.

It got me curious what the friendly people that frequent eb would say.

My DH vetoed me on a few including Saskia and Mabel, that I don’t think are too out there but there you go...

Meanwhile I vetoed him on Luke and Leia before we knew our twins were both girls....

I also decided I could not use, though I love Calandra or Octavia.

I can’t remember boys names because we had all girls so never seriously had to consider them

I fell deeply in love with Isolde, but I could see my kid spending her whole life explaining that she wasn't saying she was older.

Most of mine are girls names.
Mabel (my DH has firmly said no to this one).

Edited to add: Jasper, Atlas, Merlin for boys.

Plum. Loved it for DD2. Still love it. She would have suited it as well.

For girls. Mostly not used as I only had boys, Juniper probably would have got a run.

Both of my boys have names that people on here often screw their noses up at!!

I love Elijah, but we knew when DS was born that we would move back to my home country a couple years later so we didnt use it because nobody would be able to say it.

Vanyel. A character by my fave author. However was nixed by DH as he thought it sounded too close to vandal.
He also didn't like Nyall/Niall either.

I would of loved to use Torin for a girl but had a DS.

Oh I love Peregrine too. I also like Bear, Fox and Wolf. Finnbarr is a boys name that I’d love to use but my DH most definitely would not agree.

Girls - Lacey and Ginger.

Boys - Benedict Francis (the names of the last Pope and the current Pope).  DH thought it was too much and we ended up with girls anyway.

Demelza - ever since I fell in love with the
Poldark series in '70's. Couldn't do it, although DS has Ross as his middle name.
