Have been a member of various forums but I never thought I’d be joining essential baby!
I’m 34, been TTC for 12 months and suffering from endo. Visited a FS today and will more than likely be going down the IVF path. I’m shattered - it doesn’t feel real! Total emotional wreck!
Hoping to find ppl that can share their stories with me.

Hi there, welcome. I'm 21 months into etc, and started ivf in Feb'19. I will say that my first ivf cycles so much less stressful than ttc naturally (and for 6 months with letrozole) was. I had success my first cycle with my fresh transfer, but unfortunately due to chromosomal issues, I had a mmc, and we haven't had success since.
The ivf rollercoaster is real, in that each month/cycle/transfer, there's so much riding on it, and the stakes feel so much higher, since you've worked so hard for however many eggs/embryos/blasts you're able to get, so when some don't progress, or when a transfer fails, it feels like it really failed, more than each month seeing the negative test, at least in my experience.
IVF is helpful in that you know that the embryo is there, so you can figure out whether you have issues making embryos, or issues with implantation, or development, or whatnot. For me this is helpful, since we had absolutely no clue where it was going wrong, and now it appears we just don't make very many good embryos, even from a large number of eggs (3 normal embryos from 17 eggs collected this cycle). Even though I haven't had success again yet, I still feel lucky to have ivf as an option. It really isn't worse than trying naturally, it's just time and money intensive, but your chances are much greater, so to me it's worth the payoff. Good luck, I hope it works for you quickly!

It took us 6 tries before we got our first bub, so hang in there! It's a stressful and expensive journey, but all worth it in the end.
