Can a FF please assist.

We are booking flights from Melbourne to Amsterdam using qantas ff points.

Airline we are flying with is Cathay pacific.

We will have enough points to combine to be able to purchase a classic rewards seat for 1/4 in our group.

Looking on the website if I choose to fly one way back from Budapest then I’m charged in HUF not AUD. I need to purchase 3 seats in cash.

The flights back are not until October 2020 which will be out in 1 month.

Yes 2/4 are autistic and I’m the carer.

Sorry, I'm zero help here, but wouldn't you just book one with points, then the three with 'cash' and your bank would charge you in the converted A$?

I’m also worried about region blocking as the website has early bird sales for flights purchased in Australia but not those on Budapest.

That’s exactly what I want to do but want to try and buy the flights in AUD. Wondering if I should try Webjet or a travel agent.

I’ve been region blocked in booking flights one way from overseas before and just trying to work out a way around this.

Maybe if I’m logged into qantas FF then it might show my region as Australia??

Ah, I didn't think about the region blocking, sorry.

Do travel agents book tickets with points?  You might be better to go to one and ask, you might get some pointers, even if they can't help you.

I've never tried to book one way from overseas, but I've certainly heard stories of it being a different price depending on the country that you're booking them in.

What's region blocking?

When you can't book/order something from an overseas website when you're in Australia.

OP you might get a few more people responding on the Europe Travel thread.
