My 6 year old (year 1) needs some maths help but I don't know where to start in finding a tutor. Can anyone recommend a tutoring company in Melb (inner northern suburbs) o any other suggestions? thanks

We were very, very happy with Kip McGrath. My daughter started when she was in year 5. She went from bottom maths group to top maths group in a term and a half.
She was there for a  year and is now on track with her maths in high school.

Yes, they were qualified teachers. As for cost, I don't remember. It was a small group of 2- 3 students. The thing I liked was if my daughter told them what she was currently learning in maths then they would change what they were doing.

edited to say: I also liked them because they weren't focused on rote learning like Kumon. She actually got to understand the concepts behind the answers rather than just being drilled on facts

Ok thanks - so it’s all in groups or do they also do 1 to 1?

I think it was small groups only. I didn't ask about 1:1

Before spending money, maybe have a look at Khan Academy online. They have a kids app too.
