We are in the process of having building plans done for a renovation/extension to our Californian Bungalow.
We have developed a footprint of the design, but I want to work with a designer who can help us make sure we blend old and new elements of our house and extension together... before the design stage has gone too far.
Our draughtsman is great, but he does not make any suggestions or critique any of our design decisions - I think he sees it is outside his scope or knowledge (and probably is!).
How do I find someone who can help with this process? Where do I look?
Thanks.

I googled. And got very lucky to find someone excellent. I looked at websites of ones in my area to see if I liked their style and then called to explain what I was after. I discounted ones who said things like “our packages start at $30k”.

I know of someone I went to design school with (I no longer do interior design) I can PM you her website. She’s absolutely lovely and talented IMO. :)
