My ten year old has a friend over or goes to a friend’s house 1-3 times a week after school. He has had the occasional sleepover but isn’t super keen.

My twelve year old has always had less ‘play dates’. He has hardly any after school visits but might do something on the weekend - go for a bike ride, meet up with a friend or two etc. He has had more sleepovers though - but we try to stick to one night. The two night ones end in tired tears!

When I was that age my brother and I had a friend sleepover or we slept at their house every weekend. My brother and his friend spent the entire holidays together other than enforced breaks once a week when they both had to sleep at their own houses!
