Santa is bringing a new iPad for the family for Christmas.

6yo DS is allowed to use it occasionally for recreation.

What apps would you suggest?

He mainly used Reading Eggs, ABC kids play at the moment. I’d like some more that are both a bit educational but can also just be for fun, with age appropriate themes and language.

Happy to pay for them as I would prefer to avoid ones with ads built in.

Thanks :) and Merry Christmas!

Duo lingo (pick a language!)
Chess kids
Mister Maker

Also if you don’t already have something, look into Family Zone for regulating internet access to inappropriate sites and apps, and/or use Guided Access to lock it onto a single app so they can’t delete your email etc!

Totally agree re Toca Boca. They are ‘digital toys’ rather than games. Really great.

The LEGO apps are free. There’s LEGO juniors, city and creator, etc.

You could try Minecraft in creative mode.

Thanks everyone!
We will definitely look into the internet safety options too, hasn’t thought about that.

Some of the apps based off real games are pretty cool. DD likes the Uno app and there's a free word search one that she enjoys too.
