Always believe in your soul
You've got the power to know
You're indestructible
Always believing

Seemed like more fun that just posting Silver.  Once again I have turned to music to save my sanity.

Every time I'm working on a reply things die

There’s a bit of a dearth of political protest songs around right now.

#8 BadCat

Let's write one.

We'll start it with

Every time I'm working on a reply
Things die  (lol, sorry Gruidae)

Um...

Every time I'm working on a reply
Things they die
Every time I see the smokey sky
I wonder why

The politicians cannot see
The destruction of the trees
The failing of the land
Mother Nature needs a hand

Nah, not angry enough.  Too folksy.  Needs more swear words.

Oh god.  It reminds me of that awful Julian Lennon thing from years ago.  Can't remember what it was called.

I'm sorry.  You can shoot me now.

Come senators, Congressmen
Please heed the call
Don't stand in the doorway
Don't block up the hall
For he that gets hurt
Will be he who has stalled
There's a battle outside
And it is ragin'.
It'll soon shake your windows
And rattle your walls
For the times they are a-changin'.
Come mothers and fathers
Throughout the land
And don't criticize
What you can't understand
Your sons and your daughters
Are beyond your command
Your old road is
Rapidly agin'.
Please get out of the new one
If you can't lend your hand
For the times they are a-changin'.

sorry. i’m old...but, wise words.

I’m down with folksy, but there’s none of that, either. Even Springsteen’s gone quiet.

Hasn’t Tay Tay done a version of this recently?

Mostly I just go for Eve of Destruction.  But I haven't really heard anything new that I'm feeling, which is sad.

That desperately needs a new version.

Watched a movie about Springsteen’s songs the other day. His lyrics were very timeless.

Blinded by the Light

With abject apologies to Mr Springsteen (and probably to anyone who reads it :()

Madmen causing bummers and fires in the summer with an absent Prime Minister
In the dumps cause of Trump as Mitch McConnell stumps the will of the Democrat
With a boulder on my shoulder feelin' kinda older I checked the Brexit-go-round
With this very unpleasing sneezing and wheezing Boris Johnson
Crashed through the crowd

[Verse 2]
Some half-wit deadsh*t was runnin' to his golf spot wavin’ wildly with tiny hands
And some tosspot moptop was tied up in a Brexit knot with a country in his hands
And now young Scott with a PM spot finally found a hiding spot and hangs out drinking by the sand
And some state clod riding roughshod says screw it, light the fireworks and turn up the band

[Chorus]
And some were blinded by the right
But cut loose like a deuce they’ll do a runner in the night
Blinded by the right
They got in but they never got it right, but we’ll make it alright

[Verse 3]
Some brimstone baritone anti-cyclone rolling stone VP preacher from the east
He says, "Dethrone diversity, live just like mother and me, that’s how god hates it least”
And some new-mown Vice PM was standin' at the lectern watchin' the fires all dance
And some daft old shock jock stood behind them like a rock to try to gain some relevance

[Chorus]
And some were was blinded by the right
But cut loose like a deuce they’ll do a runner in the night
Blinded by the right
They got in but they never got it right, but we’ll make it alright

[Verse 4]
Some silicone sister married an orange mister and pretends that she’s got what it takes
She said “mumble mumble be best” or something, cause that’s what you expect from fakes
And a hay-cart irrelevant fart was checkin' out the weather chart saying god was going to save our hide
And over in the House the articles were heard and declared the need to impeach was bona fide

[Chorus]
Some are still blinded by the right
Can’t think, have a drink, everything will be alright
Blinded by the right
Murdoch always told us not to argue with the right
Oh but we, we will seek the truth out

There has been a US strike on Baghdad that has reportedly killed one of the top Iranian officials and a top Hezbollah official.

This is seismic and no US person in Iraq will be safe.

Clearly the impeachment threat is more scary than the Don was letting on.  Nothing like starting a war to get people to stop thinking about national politics.
