Just after suggestions for best runners for school (we can have any colour), for support for DS who wears orthotics? He has a narrow foot - B fitting for width in school shoes.

Looking at ASICS / adidas / Nike.

It entirely depends on the shape of the orthotic. I have a high arch, so I need a very deep shoe to fit it in. I was pointed to a sport shoe specialist ( Active Feet here in Melbourne) to get sports shoes as they employ podiatrist students for staff. We basically pulled out every suitable crosss trainer in my size out in-store and tried shoes on until something fit and felt good.
I would go to a similar specialist store with the orthotic when it is quiet and have an open mind. My podiatrist was able to give me a discount referral so maybe see if you can do the same.

It’s best you take your DS and orthotics to get fitted. Everyone’s feet is different.

I have narrow feet and I wear ASICS :) I agree with the PP that it's a good idea to take the orthotics and see what he finds most comfortable.

We went shopping this afternoon and with orthotics got fitted for ASICS. They said normal flat profile in shoe is better so doesn’t mess with orthotic fitting. Comfort best, maybe not quite as narrow (Nike’s run narrower) but comfort and support better with ASICS.

Thank you for all your helpful input!

My daughter has nike runners and wears converse for her everyday school shoes. Apparently she is too cool for normal school shoes lol.
Anyway her podiatrist was happy with both and customizes her orthotics to fit both shoes.
