Clementine Ford posted this earlier today. Cynthia Nixon always was my favourite....

Best to put up a NSFW warning up!

Powerful.
I feel like I should have more to say.

it's very powerful - however I in my 44 years I can say I have heard all of them - I have also said many of them.

I love that as a society we are continuing to challenge the obvious and look again.

While so many of these rules suit men and the patriarchy, as women we can start by making it clear what misogyny is and how damaging it is to both men and women.

I tried to share this to the mum's page I'm on (local area, about 12k members) and it's been rejected. Far out.

NSFW because the menz can't deal with it?

That was great - very powerful.

No. Because I’m not sure work will approve of nudity shown at work.

i just re watched it. Nudity? The maybe 1 second grab of pixellated pudenda? The pole dancer? Nothing more than the clips of jennifer Lopez from the super bowl. I don’t think there was anything there that isn’t seen in any trashy gossip mag. Unless it’s the breast pump that offends you?

There was a shot of mons pubis, and also naked breasts.

It's depressing that I've heard it all as well.

Six decades and we're still fighting for acceptance as people rather than a facade and a commodity.

Oh for goodness sake.

I have no issues with the content in the video at all. I just think it's a fair warning.

If you're looking for a fight, find it somewhere else.

Great video, I saw if earlier today after someone posted it on Facebook. It’s so depressing, all these conflicting messages are just crazy.

I wouldn't watch it at work - but more because it's not relevant to veterinary science than because of the brief naughty bits.

Yeah nah I'm not getting involved in that argument with my workplace... no way in hell would I watch it on my desktop screen.

However I do generally see sites like EB as being at risk of containing nsfw content without warning.

I'm fairly certain that I would have been fired, on the spot, no warnings, from every paid job I've ever had for watching that at work if one of the "clients" caught a glimpse.

Ok, I’m sorry that the message of this has been lost in a discussion about what people are watching at work. I just assumed that if people have strict rules about what they can watch at work then they wouldn’t open random clips (this one was on Facebook). And also that if you have that sort of workplace then you aren’t doing personal things on your computer. My staff don’t do anything personal on the computers in common areas. If they were watching this in their break in the office, no problem.

Wouldn’t have occurred to me anyone was on EB at work and then clicking through to watch a video whilst at work moukmouk, I wouldn’t have thought to put a warning up either.

Cynthia Nixon performs that really well doesn’t she.

Annoying to count up how many of them I’ve heard.

Oh it’s completely true the images it uses are part of the problem.

There aren’t many images of women who look like me though - except, as Sarah Millican says, with the word ‘before’ under them in a magazine,

I think this sums up the problem well. The vid is completely voyeuristic and too 'beautiful'.

Interesting comment the director was male too. I dont have a clear idea yet of what I think. But I am thinking so I guess that is the point!

I feel just watching Cynthia Nixon read this out without any of the imagery would have been enough.

#24 BeAwesome

I agree the imagery took away from the words, I think it would have been more powerful as just spoken.

I remember being amazed the first time I saw a woman with cellulite in a movie - it was an Australian film, and I can't think of the name or the actors.  But it was so affirming.
