This is so weird but I’m wondering if anyone has Sophie Dahl’s older cookbooks:

Very Fond of Food
From Season to Season

I’m a HS English teacher and used to use a page or so as a writing prompt. I wondered if someone could photograph a few pages for me - I absolutely cannot find the book.

I have From Season To Season, as well as Miss Dahl's Voluptuous Delights - any particular pages you're after?

Ohh it could be from Season to Season. She is basically describing this grand amazing scene in either India or Morocco. I think it’s India! The recipe isn’t as important as I give it to students. It’s very evocative if that helps. I’m sorry I can’t be more specific. I can’t get it at any libraries..

I’m hoping it’s not in the other book neither of us have/can find.

I'm assuming if it's a long-ish spiel that it's probably the introduction to one of the chapters, rather than one of the recipes? They all have a fairly short prelude? Checking Season to Season now :)

Is it about acting in a Bollywood film with some dancing pigeons on stage in Mumbai?

(not a sentence I've written before, I don't think)

Yes exactly!! Spiel describing how she came to write the recipe.

Ah - wandering around a village, surrounded by food, leading to the development of a rosewater pudding recipe?

It definitely qualifies as evocative so I'm hoping it's the one you're looking for!

That’s the one!!!!! Would you mind taking a pic and posting it or whatever? Is there anything I can do in return? That sounds weird but I’ve been really wanting it for class.

Of course, happy to! I never seem to be able to send photos via PM, would you be happy to PM me your email address? :) So glad I could help!
