I keep on seeing things on Facebook about a mining CEO now running the country - some non elected think tank type group as parliament stands down. Bloodless coups. Etc etc.

I've searched for this kind of news but found nothing. Is there something of this nature happening?

Nev (ex fortescue minerals CEO) is head of National Covid-19 coordination committee (NCCC) Scotty put together.

I assume that is what people are referring to.

Scotty was hell chummy with him in the presser.

I think Scotty enjoys being in charge too much to let someone else have a go.

But Scott doesn’t want to make decisions without someone else to blame. That’s why he has medical advisors, state premiers, and now this committee of his big business mates.

Scott just likes to be in charge and market the message, preferably with slogans, dad jokes and Facebook videos.

I’m a little worried about why we need the Covid-19 app and what’s app from the gov. Can’t we rely on the abc and similar media anymore?

I am suspicious that it  actually for tracking everyone to make sure they are isolating properly.

Yes, the board of the new National Covid-19 Coordination Commission were hand picked by Morrison and there is not a single medical professional or scientist on it. It is made up of all white, mainly male, mining, banking, telco, transport and energy execs.

People are like deer in headlights with all this money being thrown around but make no mistake, his intentions aren't in our interest first and foremost AT ALL.

That commission is intended to focus on the economic and social effects of covid, and recovery.
It wont have medical or scientific specialists as commissioners.

More the reason to have medical and scientific experts.

Lol, we're under the impression that Scotty's really unimpressed with having won the last election :;):

Talk about a poisoned chalice

Well how can they blame Labor and the Greens? I am sure they will still find a way.

Yeah, he seems like a guy who liked leadership when it was mostly about sneakily helping his wealthy donors and religious mates. Now that he is faced with an unprecedented and challenging situation, he is not up to the job. To be fair, not many people would be. Albo would have been bloody useless too. Shorten? I'm not sure 🤔

Glad to see Greg Combet on that team. As for the rest of them - what is the purpose of the commission again? I read the statement about what they were meant to be doing, and I'm none the wiser 🤷

Hmmm. Now faith appears to influence dates of shut down actions. And who enters our borders and when they enter.

Quote from above article

Quote

Most recently Scott Morrison took part in a 25-hour prayer marathon held over Zoom last weekend. Scott Morrison begins his prayer with “heavenly father, we just commit our nation to you in this terrible time of great need” — A gross violation of the separation between church and state. Morrison is free to engage in prayer in his personal life, but to commit our country to his God whilst acting as our country’s leader and sitting in his parliamentary office is crossing a line.
Ummm, you may be the nation’s PM but please don’t commit me to your God.

This is scarier than believing he was prioritising the economy over health.

People should be outraged. They aren't because they are like dear in headlights with the cash splash at the moment.

This God BS outrageous. What a joke.

I'm sure they're looking at things like this. China is apparently using such things with their population. No matter how much people say safety is worth the loss of freedom, I still don't believe it.

(It has actually been very interesting to watch the reaction to being stuck at home and not being able to have freedom - maybe it will wake a few people up to how being safe doesn't equate to a full life)

Using this crisis as an excuse to extend surveillance is disgusting.

That is exactly what it is and I'm pretty sure he slipped it into the conversation at a press conference.

I don't find it scary as I don't believe in God. So it means absolutely nothing to me.

You don’t find it scary that government policy and decisions might be based on something you don’t believe exists (God) rather than logic, science and facts?
