Have been chatting to friends, and parents of DS's friends, and there's a huge range of what people are doing differently in their daily lives. I was curious as to whether what I'm doing in my daily life is different to what most people are doing, so thought I'd create a poll (I have a feeling I may be on the 'extreme' end!) Feel free to add comments below!

For the second section can you please add an option for unchanged? I'm not communicating with anyone more or less. I'm always an antisocial hermit so that's unchanged for me.

For COVID need I get hammered at work with it, I get updates and info multiple times a day so no reason for me to seek it out or read news websites.

I need an option for 'spending more time inside', 'doing more housework' and 'watching more TV' ... because these are things I don't usually do.

I am probably socialising less overall, and the socialising I do is now via phone/video call.

I'm also drinking more

We are getting outside much more because we have more time. Still shopping for necessities but online for things I’d normally browse for eg: books, beauty products etc. I usually spray/wipe groceries with rubbing alcohol/isowipes. I work in a frontline health role so am pedantic about washing work clothes and showering straight away, and leaving work shoes out in the garage.

So I've been doing this too, and it's actually the one main thing that prompted me to do this poll - I've been wondering if I'm completely ridiculous and overdoing it. So I'm glad to see that at least a few others on here have been doing similar too!

I don't think EB is the right place to get  on perspective on some of these issues.  You need fact based evidence, not what random people are doing.

Personally I don't think it's necessary or healthy to wipe down groceries or put mail in quarantine.

We are just home. Groceries delivered. One outing in the last week, we all went in the car, I was the only one to get out and pick up school work packs and a couple of essential groceries we needed at a local IGA. Everyone else waited in the car. The kids had not been away from our house for 2 weeks prior to that, that's why we took them in the car. DH had been out the week before to pick up a few grocery items and medications.

All our social contact is online and over the phone.

I feel like we're very privileged to be able to to this and I also think we're doing what we should be doing to help avoid getting Covid-19 and to help prevent spreading it.

I wish the electricity bill I got last week would go into permanent quarantine.

I didn’t say I’m keeping the kids home but that’s because it 8s school holidays here in Vic. I’m not sure what I’d do it it wasn’t. I don’t think XH would keep them home and we have 50/50 care so I’m not sure there be much point me doing so.

I have holidays this week with them and we need fruit and veg, I’ve told them well all go (it’s just that too far for me to be comfortable leaving them home) but they will wait in the car. I also don’t have a vacuum cleaner having moved from a house with ducted vacuum system so I’m going to click and collect that tomorrow while we’re getting the fruit, taking that chance to get DD a new electric blanket (it’s not a need but if I’m getting the vacuum I may as well grab that too) - well all be in the car there.

Over the weekend as I unpacked there were a number of things I thought I needed as this is an older house and a rental so I can’t change the fixtures. I added them to an online store order as I identified them. By the end of the weekend I’d found an alternate solution for all but two items which I’ll sort tomorrow while I’m clicking and collecting and fruit shopping.

After tomorrow we will not leave the house other than for some exercise and fresh air (we are lucky to have a large yard so the kids and I can get out there to kick a ball together).

Thank you - by the time I answered that choice was there and like you my antisocial hermit tendencies have continued as normal! I bloody hate it when my phone rings.

Oh believe me I'm getting plenty of fact-based evidence in real life. I know the facts and the evidence - anxiety still wins out some days, though. This poll is more of a fluffy thing!

I'm finding it really, REALLY strange, because I am absolutely an introverted, antisocial hermit in normal life.

But in the past three or so weeks, all I've wanted to do is connect with people! I'm reaching out to people I haven't spoken to properly in years, messaging old friends, video-calling a variety people a few times a week.

WHO EVEN AM I ANYMORE?? What has this virus done to me?!?

I have OCD, have had it most of my adult life. My main compulsion is hand washing, and having clean hands after touching something that's 'contaminated'.

It's taken years and lots of work to get it under control - not gone but much much better and having less impact on my day to day life.

Now this virus has come along and everyone else is germ crazy too! I've always avoided touching things when out and about anyway at the shops or whatever and now I'm probably at the other end ie not hyper worried like some people are, just trying not to touch my face and wash my hands when I get home.

I'm still working, shopping as necessary (not taking kids anymore though) and was a homebody so not much change really.
