Hi girls,
sorry no personals from me today, im at the verge of tears. Chloes reflux is getting worse, she just screams and chucks then screams some more. I called Dh at work, i know he cant do anything from there but it made me feel a little better.
Every day is the same and its really taking its toll on me. My poor little girl, i cant do anything to ease her discomfort.Gaviscon and Zantac has not worked sad.gif
The Gp has sent a referral to the childrens hopital to see a specialist. I hope they dont take too long in getting me an appointment.
Poor little thing cant even get relief while sleeping, the reflux wakes her or she will cry out in her sleep. Her crys are so high pitched and filled with pain it breaks my heart.
I keep telling myself to pull it together, my crying wont help her, probably upsets her more:(
I feel like such a sook!
im paranoid she will choke, she makes coughing and gagging sounds, i love my baby monitor, i would not sleep if i didnt have one, as im constanly checking she is ok as it is.

Anyway, sorry to bring sadness to an otherwise happy thread, i will come back later when im feeling more positive.
Hope you are all well and having a good day!

Oh... by the way, where is the tech section to help me put a photo with my sig.i want to show off my little girl! Or can someone here help?

wacko.gif Hi again....

Why am i soooo tired, apart from the obvious new baby ,3 kids etc etc...Its ridiculous,as i sit here i cannot keep my eyes open...Cooper had quite a resonable nite too.I feed him at 7pm then he woke at 1.30am and then 6.30am.So i got fair nite sleep under my belt..Im just feeling exhausted..Maybe might need some vitamins or somthing...

Our dinner was wonderful, apart from the fact that we got to the restaurant at 7pm, our dinner was not served to our table until 9pm mad.gif.We were not very happy bout the long wait. But being valentines day i guess you have to expect it...Cooper was an angel at the restaurant. I feed him b4 we left and we had him in the pram and he didnt even stir for the whole time just slept like an angel.. I said to dh how funny we must of looked there for a romantic evening, with our newborn in pram next to us...lol.

Anyway am off to help ds with his homwork, feed Cooper, keep dd occupied and try to get dinner underway...
wacko.gif ...

Well better be off, hope you are all well...

til next time take care... smile1.gif

PS Sorry for lack of personnals atm,im hard pressed finding time to get on at all atm... wacko.gif

Hi Everybody,

A hello from me to you all!!! So sorry to hear of you poor mummas and bubbas with reflux and colic!! Sending lots of sleepy painfree vibes your way......

My Mitchy had his 8 week needle yesterday. He was so good!! He let out an almighty scream and then a pat on the bum and a booby later he was fine!! DH and I went to Valentines dinner at our local italian resturant and our baby was a complete doll!! He had a play before dinner, a sleep during the main course and then a play again during dessert!!!  Such a sweet boy!!

We went to a new playgroup/mothers group today and Mitch was actually awake and sociable the whole 2 hours!! Now he has been sleep for 3 hours! He woke up for a feed an hour ago and went straight back to sleep! My housework is actually getting done today! lol

Well we are flying solo tonight as DH is at work till tomorrow arvo! Only Mitchy and I's second night all on our own so wish me luck!!!

Is any date better for others to make it? I know jayamyc can only do Mondays or Thursdays, I can do  tuesdays, wednesdays, thursdays or fridays. Would be great to have as many of us there as possible!!!

RSVP's so far...

Afternoon everyone...

Sorry to hear so many mummies are having trouble with their darlings sleeping at night - Touch wood Jack has a fantastic sense of time at the moment and manages to sleep from 8/10 till 5 and generally goes back down again for an hour or two till around 6 or 7. I am finding at the moment that cluster feeding in the afternoon is working really well for his sleeping pattern at night - that is I am feeding him at least every 1 1/2 to 2 hours from just after lunch till he goes to bed.

Glad to hear so many of you got out for Valentines Day or at least got a box of chocolates. We were planning on getting take away and having a nice bottle of wine but had a power failure and ended up going to DP's brothers house and watched the cricket. I got a lovely sayings book from DP which made me feel really bad cause I haven't yet got him anything - going late night shopping on Thursday.

Anyway must dash and get Jack ready for for tonight - going up to visit Nanna and Pops because Daddy is playing Basketball.

Ryn - Sending positive vibes your way - I hope the situation gets better and you don't have to wait for teh specialist appointment.

Hi Guys,

I've changed my username from missAnna to EddiesMum original.gif

Finally have time to post, I've been reading to keep up once a day but have found it hard to post..

Eddie is doing well, he had a gunky eye on monday so took him to the doctor and he is on some eye drops, looks heaps better now!. His belly button is a bit gunky too, i've been cleaning it with water twice a day but might take him to the health nurse tomorrow to see if it's ok as they have an open afternoon.

He isn't sleeping well at night, doesn't want to go to sleep. So I've been having him in bed with me, means I don't get a good sleep as I'm aware of him in bed with me, but at least i'm not up pacing the floor! We missed going to the ABA meeting today as I didn't get to bed till 1:30 and that was with Eddie and i'm not sure what time we actually fell asleep, then we were feeding at 3am then 5:30am.

He also has a hard time settling himself so will sometimes wake up after 30mins and need rocking back to sleep, anoying when i'm trying to catch up on sleep during the day! I should be sleeping now but oh well!

i feel for you girls with colicy babies, I can't stand to hear him cry and am glad he only cries when i'm too slow giving him his dinner. I hope it all settles down for you guys soon.

Eddie has started smiling, but only for his Grandma! hmph hehe
I've gotten a couple but she gets lots!! He see's me and just wants boobie!!

Next week I think I'll start the weight loss thing! I've lost 13 so far but will need to start working for it to loose the rest, I need to loose 7kg to get back to prepreg weight but i'd like to loose 14 more.

lecourt: I've done weight watchers in the past, do they still do the points system? how many points can you eat when breast feeding??? I'll probably use this to loose the weight.

Luchresa: Thats exactly how i've been feeding too! I sort of made it up myself and was wondering if it was the right thing to do, but it works for us and i've got plenty of milk!

July: Wow that's a great weight gain, you must be proud!!

amy: I hope you get some rest or time to your self soon so you don't burn out!
I don't know how you guys do it with more than one!!!

Ryn: Big hugs, I hope things get better for you and bubs soon.

Better go have a quick nap.

Hi Ladies

Thanks to everyone for the advice on b/feeding. I really am struggling with it and your advice & support is appreciated.

Luchresa - I think I will try your method at the next feed and see how it goes - and you are right about the eating & drinking. I am planning on trying to eat a whole heap more starting tomorrow (I have had another day of not eating enough i'm sure and I know it can't be helping things - I do however drink more than enough water)- even with all the help I've got I find the baby and all the associated tasks take up so much of time that you always put yourself last so eating is just something I find I get around to if I have time. But tomorrow I am going to make a huge effort as I now know how important it is. I will let you know if it hepls things in the suppy department.

Cleopatra - we had a lovely night - dinner was beautiful although we were only gone for 1 and half hours as we were anxious to get home to our baby! Felt weird to leave him.

Butterfly - hope tihngs improve for your little boy - it can't be easy.

Ryn - I really do feel for you - my baby only cries when he's hungry and that's enough for me. I hope you get an appointment soon.

Petrie - sounds like you've got a good little boy there.

Eddies Mum - yes, WW still does the pints system - would you believe you must have 32 points a day if you b/feed your baby - that is alot of food!! Good luck if you decide to give it a go.

Sorry to anyone I've missed. My baby has been in bed for 2 hours now so I think I'll have a shower and call it a night and catch some sleep while he does.

Talk soon

hmmm well looks like eddie doesn't like night time at all, he is wide awake and has been since I last posted! Very tired but just wont shut his eyes. He had a big feed, two big poos and lots of rocking and patting and walking.. *yawn* DP giving it a shot now... not having any luck either.

He got frustrated at the end of the feed, wanting to suck but then pulling away then wanting to suck again... Figured he'd had enough. Normally he just goes to sleep but does this in the evening time.

He's not crying much now, but did look like he was in pain before his two poos, now he just grizzles if you stop rocking or patting.. joy! wish i had of had more naps today hehe

Better go take over from DP so he can go to bed and get some sleep for work tomorrow!

Hi Girls

Glad to hear everyone had a good valentines day.  Hubby bought me some chocies but I had'nt been to the shops so I have not got him anything yet so I decided to be nice and share the chocies.

Hope everyone got some sleep last night.  I feed Byron at 10.30 and he woke at 2.30 and 6.30 wanting a feed.  He slept well in between and has only been crying when he is hungry.  Just wanted to ask you girls how long you let your bubbies sit up after a feed?  I am letting Byron sit up for about an hour and a half including feeding and changing time then putting him to bed.  After that it normally takes him about 10-15minutes to fall asleep so he is awake for one and a half to two hours.  Obviously I don't do this at night.

Thinking of all the mums out there coping with reflux babies hope things get better for you and your bubbas soon.

Ryn hope its not to long till you get an appointment and I hope they can help you quickly.  Must be hard to hear your little one in pain.  Look after yourself I am thinking of you.  Let us know how you go.  By the way I'm not to sure how I did my signature I am not that good on the computer I got hubby to help me.  There was a section on EB that helped us but I can't remeber where it was posted esspecially when I tried to find it the second time I could not find it but its around here somewhere.  One of the other girls might be able to tell you where it is.

Luchresa - Glad to hear that Sam is putting on weight.  Last time Byron was weighed (a week ago) he just hit the 4 kilo mark.

Eddiesmum - Glad to hear that Eddie is doing well.  Byron is the same for me he only cries when he is hungry and starts to get a little cranky when he is tired, hope it continues this way for us both (touch wood).  Hope his sleeping gets better for you though.  Just thought I would let you know that I wrap Byron when I put him down and this helps to keep him settled and he falls asleep on his own.  If he is cranky I give him his dummy, usually takes him about 10-15 minutes to nod off.

well must be off got lots to do while Byron is sleeping and I will be having visitors this arvo.
Take Care and have a great day.

Dimples81 That makes me so angry what they did.

With akasha I was taking her to my GP the clinc lady was coming to my house every week. For 5 LONG months they kept saying to me as Akasha was gaining weight there was nothing wrong with her she "would" grow out of it GGRRRR. Akasha was worse then what Phoenix is at least with Phoenix we get sleep at night. With Akasha I got use to sleeping rocking the pram This is no joke have the video to prove it I use to snore everything and rock a pram.

Well. A bug ened up going through the family and akasha was just starting solids at that time. And she got the bug. So GP stopped ALL food and only allowed to give Breastfeeding again. 2 weeks later Akasha's poo's were still Very GREEEN and looking like soap bubbles.

Oh then the light bulb comes on with the GP Lactose intorent. I was so dam angry. The moment she went on the special formula within 24 hours I had a baby. That slept was content. Found out that "MOST" not ALL babies lose weight. I had one that was gaining around 250 - 500 grams a week. But she was lactose intorent.

Phoenix screamed the house down last night LOL. Getting use to it now. Cliff finally got him settled at 9.30pm He slept till 3am original.gif Poor buba I had to wake him at 7.45am to feed him as I had to get Akasha to pre school at 8.30am  Phoenix decided he needed 4 boobie feeds that feed.

I feed him 10 min one side burb back on for another 10 and burb then another 10 on other side. But this morning he decided he had to have another 10 LOL Only just got akasha to school good thing school is only 3 doors away. He is sound asleep now in the pram and I got my floors all swept and washing on original.gif WOO HOO Just might get some work done today.

wacko.gif hello mummies, sorry to hear that some of you are having a rough time with reflux and colic with your dear bubba's, hope you little ones get some relief soon.

i haven't been in here for what seems like forever, i'm still trying to catch up when i can but i've just been so busy, Natahlia is doing well, getting fat which is too cute..... still been abit of a monkey at night and not wanting to sleep in her bassinette, she sleeps fine in there during the day, so i don't know what the go is... i'm sure she'll figure herself out soon enough after all she is only 19 days old!  wink.gif

i had a nice valentines day surprise waiting for me when i got back from shopping, a lovely arrangement with roses, teddy bears and a little 'love' cushion (oh and handcuffs! ROFL), i of course hadn't been that organised and hadn't got Nick anything, so a quick trip to the lions den and a HRT shirt later he was very happy...lol not quite a traditional valentines gift but red all the same.

dimples - OMG i can't believe your gp...grrrr hope your paed will be more helpful to you, Callum had reflux and even though he hadn't lost any weight they did a 'barrium swallow' i think thats what it was called, where he drank some stuff and then they tracked it via x-ray to see the severity of the reflux, luckily it wasn't too bad and we used gaviscon for awhile until it got better... i hope your little girl finds some relief soon, it's soooo cruel.

ok well little miss has woken so i must be off, will bbl for more personals. Hope everyone has a good day.

Muchkin: I have the same problem with eddie! I don't know if i'm more relaxed during the day and so he'll fall asleep easier as I'm not as concerned if he doesn't or if it's just too quiet at night time...
Last night I managed to get him to sleep by giving him a top up at about 11:15 and he slept in his bassinette for the first stint of the night..

hmmm looks like someone is awake .. i'll be back later
