We are going to a Christening in a few weeks and having never been to one, were wondering what we should do/bring/wear for the occasion?
Do we buy a gift for the baby? If so, what would be an appropriate Christening gift for an 18 month?

There are a lot of difefrent things which could be appropriate as a gift. Is it a boy or girl?
Some of the things DD got were a money box, toys, silver spoon & egg cup, framed pictures, books etc.
I have bought neices really nice photo albulms, a nephew some books & book ends.
In terms of what to wear - smart casual is usually the go. Since it is in a chruch guys can't go wrong with a collared shirt (tie isn't necessary), for a woman a nice top & skirt or dress (the type you'd probably wear to work in an office).
I hope that helps.

Smart casual clothes. ie what you would wear to church.
Defintely gifts they cankeep. My first Bible is great, or the FP Nativity Scene. I'm not a religious person, but a Christening is about introducing the child to a religion.
