Rhiannon: wow your sig is beautiful! Great photo! We are having some prof ones done this Monday.
Have fun out to dinner tonight, sounds lovely.

Rach: I keep forgetting to put the banana in the freezer!! Grrr. Wish I didnt forget, I just go on without eating lunch then im starving mid arvo.

Thought I'd post a recipe of a fish dish that I tried last week. It's from the CSIRO book. Sorry to those that already have the book but thought the others might like it. It is so yummy. I am not usually a big fish fan but I have to say I loved this one. It's pretty easy to prepare too.

BBQ Swordfish with Charred Mediterranean Veges & Olives
Serves 4

1 red capsicum, seeded and thickly sliced
1 yellow capsicum, seeded and thickly sliced
2 zucchini, sliced lengthways
1 red onion, thickly sliced
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 cloves garlic, chopped
8 kalamata olives
2 teaspoons balsamic vinegar
1 tablespoon chopped flat-leaf (Italian) parsley
1/4 cup torn basil
juice of 1/2 lemon
olive oil spray
4 x 200g swordfish steaks
lemon wedges

Pre-heat a grill plate or BBQ gril to high.
Place capsicum, zucchini and onion in a bowl with half the oil and lightly season. Toss to coat thoroughly. Transfer to grill plate and cook, turning occasionally, for 3-5 minutes or until charred and slightly wilted. Return veges to bowl. Add garlic, olives, balsamic vinegar, parsley. basil, lemon juice and remaining oil and toss lightly. Cover with plastic wrap and allow flavours to infuse while cooking the fish.

Lightly spray swordfish steaks with oil spray and lightly season. Char-grill for 2 minutes each side, or until cooked. Dvide veges between serving plates and top with fish.

Serve with lemon wedges.

Operation Zane's christening is in full gear.  Shopping's all finished, cake ordered and I've made 2 slices and some ginger biscuits, and some ice-blocks for all the kids.  The rest of the cooking will have to wait until Saturday.

Feel much better to be finally getting organised, but now I'm having a major panick attack about Sunday's forecast.  We have no air-con - 47 adults and 12 kids are going to absolutely flake it here.  My Mum rang and said that Dad had joked to her that we should have it at their place.  But she really emphasised the word "joke" so I took the hint.

It poured for Kobe's christening, after a mammoth backyard blitz type effort to get our landscaping finished.  No-one even saw it ...

You will be a busy girl. I know someone who does that scrapbooking party plan thing. Your new camera sounds great.

You sound busy with all the christening preparations. I hope it goes smoothly for you.

Well I should get off this computer and actually do something or I'll be kicking myself if Oliver wakes and I haven't gotten everything done I need to.

My dad is coming for dinner this evening as he'll be in Brisbane. I am sure he'll be really excited to see Oliver.

Hi Girls,

Have to make this super quick, flat out ATM. Is anyone elses babies sleeping more than usual latley? Tayla had a 1.5hr nap this morning, and is asleep again now and has been asleep for......wait for it........ 4 HOURS ohmy.gif  blink.gif OMG! She has stirred once or twice but went straight back to sleep. When i checked on her she heared the door squeak and lifted her head but went back to bed! could it be a growth spurt??

My friend does it so that she can support her scrapbooking habit not really to make any money. She isn't into the selling aspect but holds parties for people that want them. I don't think she has made much money but has saved on scrapbooking supplies for herself.

Cooper looks very similar now to what she looked like as a baby. IMO. She is of course much bigger now LOL

4 hours is a really long sleep. It must be a growth spurt.

Anni - Wow Ella hasnt slept that long since she was a newborn. Yesterday she had a nearly 2 hour sleep in the morning and a 2.5 hour sleep in the arvo and i thought that was alot. Maybe Tayla's just extra tired from being so active! Enjoy the "time out" while you can...

Erin - Love the collage... its amazing how big they are now compared to less than a year ago.

Rach - OMG 46 degrees! Last xmas we went away (i was mid pregnancy) and it was so hot, we checked one of the thermometers on one of the caravans and it said 45.6 degrees. It was honestly like stepping into an oven when you went outside. I was out for about 10 minutes and my feet swelled so much that they felt like they were gonna pop and i couldnt see my ankles. Good luck !!

Amber - Good luck with the christening. Its amazing how having your own "event" stresses you out. It will all go smoothly, just enjoy the day.

Dani - mmmm that recipe sounds nice. Will have to give it a go!

Smoothy question: I forget how to make it sad.gif Do you just cut up a banana and then stick in the freezer, then just add milk???

I have 2 QOTD:

#1 - How many day naps is bubs having now and what time do they normally get up from their last nap? Ella only had 45 minutes this arvo so was up at 2:30pm, Ive just tried to put her back down cause she's cranky but I know she wont sleep and i think its too late anyway. I dont wanna muck up her night, but now she's gonna get overtired...

#2 - I need some ideas of what to give Ella for lunch. There's only so much fruit I can give her and i feel sorry for her having to eat pretty much the same type of thing every day.

Ok better go get her up...poor thing is sooking and really doesnt want to sleep..cant force her (although im sure we all wish we had a magic button sometimes!)

Have a great night cause its pretty hectic here from this time onwards...

ETA: Erin -  I looooove that photo of Cooper! (the freddo one) her eyelashes look so long! Also Ella was really puffy the first day or so when she was born. I'll try and find a pic..

After seeing Erin's pics of Cooper I went back to look at Joey's pics.. here is one of her 1 day old.

I am kind of glad she looks different now! Tounge1.gif

ETA: Just thought I might as well put one up of her a few minutes old whilst I am at it since I didn't put one up when we did the newborn pics! biggrin.gif Hope you guys don't mind.

Hi girls,

Can't catch up now, but i bet any money I'll be on here at midnight tonight.

Dh just came home with a fish tank and a baby water dragon that he found, so now we have a new pet called Walter the Water Dragon. He is just so cute. DH is outside making him a beautiful new home. We will keep him for a little while and then release him.

Anni - maybe a growth spurt. Hunter has done that before, it is a bit shocking isn't it!!

QOTD - Bridget has 2 day sleeps. She pretty much has 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon... sometimes it varies like 1 1/2 hours in the morning, 2 hours afternoon etc but usually its fairly constant.

QOTD - I give Bridget mashed vegies, yoghurt, pureed fruit, toast, cruskits, milk arrowroots, a large finger of meat or chicken, a piece of banana or rockmelon.. I think thats it lol

Erin - I love all those photos. Cooper does look the same as a newborn, just smaller and skinnier!

Jackie - Joey was such a cute newborn! She has such delicate features...

Britt - what is a water dragon? Walter is a cool name for him  tongue.gif

Anni - wow 4 hours! Have you gotten much done in that time, or have you been checking on her continuously lol wink.gif

Aww thanks for all the nice comments! biggrin.gif I feel all mushy now after seeing her newborn pics. I haven't looked at them in ages! original.gif

Erin - Just saw the b/w photo of Cooper. Thats a lovely photo. original.gif She looks so big already at 2 days! biggrin.gif

OK DH is here to pick me up! YAY! Home time! biggrin.gif

Rhiannon - link for you.

Erin - Arn't you worried about Cooper's teeth, they are so fragile at this age, and will likely just rot.

Jackie - Gorgeous pics of Joey, and a beautiful new sig. Will your parents mind that you havn't told them you are pg?

Jules - Maybe you need to go to the Dr's, unexplained bleeding needs to be checked out. How do you know you arn't pg?

I would have to agree with Britt about the Freddo. When I was in japan there was a little girl about 4 years old who had chocolate and candy all the time and her teeth were rotted down to her gums. It was terrible. At least they were her baby teeth.

BRITT> Enjoy Walter! We owned two bearded Dragons, loved them to bits, had a big set up for them. Unfortunatley they died (One got stressed when we moved to WA, the other got sick a couple of years later). They are georgous!

KRISTIE> I was just about the ask the same questions! Tayla has two sleeps in the day, about 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the arvo. Sometimes it varies but that seems to be the norm these days. With the food, I have no idea because I am in the same boat!

Thats it for now, I reeeeeeaaaaly feel like sitting in here tonight with a glass of wine and some decent time on here. I feel like i really need to unwind and zone out completley for a while!!

so much to catch up on.

I love all the photos. Erin, you can definetly tell it's Cooper. I love the photo montage.

Thanks for the photography course tips Renee, I'll give Tafe a call.

QOTD: Chloe has 2 day sleeps sometimes 3 if we're out and she falls asleep in the car on the way home. They can be anywhere from 45 mins - 2 1/2 hrs. Chloe is a great night sleeper no matter how long she sleeps during the day.

QOTD2: lunch Chloe has fruit, veges, yogurt, toast, small bits of meat

I didn't end up getting a walker. Toys r us didn't have any left of the one I wanted. I did end up stopping in a Harbour Town on the way home and brought Chloe a few new outfits from the Pumpkin Patch outlet store. I love PP clothing.

Me Again original.gif

Ok I have my vodka and juice...yuuuum.

TAZZIE> Yep they're rainbow lori's, absolutley georgous! BUT I am considering giving them to a new home sad.gif I feel awful because I am passionate about 'a pet is for life not just xmas' and I feel like a hypocryte. Every morning at 6am they GO OFF. It wakes our whole house up and I am sure the neighbours aswell. They are also so smart and ever since Tayla has come along I haven't given them the time they deserve. Chads uncle is a wildlife carer and has an aviary full of them, I think they'd be much happier there, plus I could see them when ever I want! Oh by the way tayla has the same love heart outfit. Those pics are georgous!

RHIANNON> I got bugger all done wacko.gif BIL has been here all day getting Tayla's room ready to paint and then my friend came over for a few hours so i didn't do much, just socialised! How are you going back in good old SA? Have you settled in ok? How are things with DH? (sorry if I have missed anything)

We got our new couch today, yey! It's sooooooo nice, our very first new lounge. Will have to take a pic when I buy a new battery charger for my camera, anyone knopw how much they cost?

I forgot to tell you guys that MIL had Tayla for the whole weekend last weekend. From Sat arvo till Sunday arvo. WOW. So we had my brother and his girlfriend, BIL and his girlfriend, and my best friend and her hubby over for drinks. And boy did we drink. I got absolutley hammered, I haven't had a bender like that since....well...since waaaaaaay before I was pregnant! OMG. I acted like a teenager! Emma (BIL's girlfriend) decided to weigh her boobs, took me into the bathroom, flopped them out and put them on the scales. So i decided to do the same blink.gif We couldn't stop laughing. Then the guys all took their tops off and put on a buff show, Chads the skinniest (the other guys are pretty muscly) so he took his pants off and streaked through the lounge room ohmy.gif  Tounge1.gif We haven't acted so...um......stupidly drunk for so long. Not since we were teenagers. It was so much fun. But the next day was torture, I vomited for most part of the day blush.gif YUK!

Anyway Tayla has managed to somehow find me in the spare room and is demanding my attention. She was in the ounge with Chad but has managed to wheel herself over here (she's in her walker). She's so cute! Off to give her some dinner.

gggrrr i am sooooo angry. I bought a new cable a couple of weeks ago to transfer my photos from my mobile phone. The day after i did that DH kneels on my phone and wrecks the screen so i can only see 1/2 of it. So havent bothered trying out my cable... until now... an hour or so later and ive worked out how to install the program but when it says to connect my phone, and i do, it acts like i havent! But my computer says new hardware connected, its just the stupid nokia program. This is so frustrating. And i really need to get these photos onto the computer cause i have heaps of when ella was a newborn cause the phone was always within reach. I think there's more on the phone than i took on the camera. I'll have to go to the Telstra shop and see what they can do.
Sorry for the vent but its really irritating me!!!!!!!!!
