My DH and I are taking the kids to movie world next week, at least we are thinking about it. We will have a 9 year old and an 8 year old. 8 year old has Downs Syndrome, do you think that she would enjoy Movie world? Or would you suggest somewhere else?

aw I think she will LOVE Movie World, how big is she? i know she is 8 but is she the size of an 8 year old or small for her age and what would you place her emotional age at?, i am sure she will enjoy it though, if she is over 120cm she can go on anything and there are alot of rides for kids around 3 to 8 anyway. It also depends on anyother health problems to weather some of the rides will upset her or not but i still think she will love it!
Have fun i hope its a lovely sunny day for you all.

She has no health problems that would stop her from going - apart from a repaired heart defect and one remaining hole but i don't think that she would be going on any thrill seeking rides if there are any
She runs off a lot and refuses to hold hands. She might enjoy rides that a 3 -4 year old would i guess.

I reckon she would have a great time. Especially when the characters come out into the street and you can have your photo taken with them.
I'm sure she would be able to go on the little kiddy's rides too as adults sometimes get on with their kids. The little kiddies rides would probably be meant for the 1 - 5+ age group but my now 7yo but at the time was 5 and 6yo (we had a yearly pass) still enjoyed them as he wasn't into the thrill seeker rides like my older boy.
I hope you all have a fantastic day!!

Movieworld also does some no-movement rides for disabled or younger children eg: the Batman ride. We went on it with bub at 16mths and it's the same but doesn't need the seatbelt because it doesn't move IYKWIM.
Hope you have fun
