Welcome to EB, a very friendly bunch here, so enjoy.
I am going to have the same dilemma at the end of August as my daughter will be 3 and wants a Dorothy The Dinosaur cake. Have no idea even where to start.
Anyway, unfortunately can't help you out with a Care Bear cake, there must be somewhere on the Net that has step by step designs, you'd think.
If you are interested, I made a catepillar cake for DD's 2nd birthday and it was very effective, but so easy to make. The body was the Nanna's Jam Donuts you find in frozen section of supermarket, and I decorated with smarties, and cut up licorice very narrowly for the legs etc. Put icing all around catepillar on it's board and sprinkled with green jelly crystals and placed green and red frogs (to give the effect of a swamp kind of thing). I have digitals if you are interested. I am very non creative, but this was a hit. I hope you find a cake you are happy with.
