Will add my 2 cents worth whilst I have internet connectivity at my folks...this 'no internet' thing is killing me...

Me: Kath (not yet 30)
DH: Adam (35 - but he thinks he looks 21!!!)
Kidlets: Charlie 18 months, Sterling 4 months - Susie O'Neill the Shihtsu 4 years and Menzies the cat 5 years.  Maggie and P.J the fish have gone to a 'better home'.

The go: Relocated to Belconnen from Central Coast NSW December last year. Born here but lived around Aus for the last 10 years. Been a f/t SAHM for 2 weeks so far and surviving - just!  Will either go to do post grad study next year or return to previous line of work - Educational Assessment Consulting. Meant to return to NSW for DH's work but actively trying to avoid it. That's it...

NEXT...

ETA: correct baby ages...getting a bit ahead of myself, looked at my tickers and realised they aren't that old!

Given that we have had a few new "faces" here I thought I'd revive this thread. original.gif

Hi there everyone!!

Me:Rebecca(21)
DP: Kane (29)
DD: Ashlyn Grace(20 months going on 20!)
Location:Calwell
I am a SAHM and we are currently in discussions about baby#2. DP thinks one is plenty!. It's not as if he has to do any of the painful stuff!.He is one of one and i am one of five.
I am an Army 'wife' who spent 18 months in Darwin before transfering here  to be closer to family for my DD. I like to cook, go to the gym, scrapbook and read.
I only know one other young mum in the ACT because all my girlfriends from high school that live here are party animals and uni students, so i dont see much of them.

I have a damn good excuse for not getting around to this until now.....

Name: Emma (31)
DH: Ash (31)
Children: Sophia (18 months) and Juliet (4 weeks)
Location: Chifley
A bit about me: I'm on mat leave for a while, so have plenty of time to bake cakes, replace noxious weeds in the reserve with grevillea, iron Ash's undies, and teach my toddler to speak in Swahili.

A real bit about me: I'm on mat leave and trying to finish my uni studies. I consider it a good day if the toddler goes to bed without tears and the newborn has some tummy time. It's a bl**dy excellent day if the toddler also does a wee in the potty and the newborn gives me a smile. I used to have interests in vegetarian cooking, cloth nappies, buying scrapbooking stuff and imagining I will one day use it, and horses. Now, my only interest is how I can get more sleep.

Juliet 11.09.05

Name: Tina(38)

Children: DS Jacob (4 but 5 on the 19th of this month) and Josh (nearly 3 and a half)
Location: Evatt
A bit about me: I work part time. I enjoy cooking, reading spending time with my boys (all three of them) and also other family members and friends. In between work and home duties I also enjoy helping out at Preschool when I can, and taking the boys on lovely walks to the playgrounds that we have in our area

My turn.....great idea Helen

Me: Cheryl (36)
DH: Jason (31) 'my toy boy'
DS: Aiden (14 months)
Live: Gordon

We moved here approx 3 years ago from WA, hoping to move back in the near future, already meant to be back home but work commitments (Jason) keeping us here.
I was a hairdresser, having my own salon and also somewhere in the mix a travel consultant, im now a SAHM and i love every bit of it and have no inclination whatsoever atm to get back into the work force, this is much more rewarding. I used to enjoy folk art, love to do a bit more scrapbooking, reading (the libraries here are great compared to what i am used to). WIsh i could travel more, be a better cook, have a cleaner, manage to make it to playgroup, get to more get togethers and win lotto, but i guess as long as my family is happy i am happy.

A bit about me: I've lived in Canberra my whole life. I'm on Mat leave from the public service, but am hoping to go back to uni next year and study Early Childhood Education, depending on finances! Am still getting used to being a Mum, and am SOOO surprised at how little time I've actually spent at home over the last 8 weeks! So much for being a 'house' wife, more like an 'out of house' wife!

Would love to meet you all, but have always been too scared to come along to any of the get togethers blush.gif

Better late than never!

Name: Jennifer/Jen - Libra but not going to post my age as I am really feeling it at the moment.  So different from last year when I loved turning another year older.  Oh well I suppose the thrill had to stop soon LOL

DH: Peter - Scorpio (poker player fanatic who is trying to turn me into one LOL)

Children: DS Cale Bryan - Sagittarius turning 4
DS #2 Orin Marcus - Sagittarius turning 2

Location: Holder

A bit about me: I'm a SAHM who loves picnics in my backyard and taking photos of my boys when I remember to get the camera out!  If I wasn't feeling so sick at night I would be making more papier mache christmas decoration and doing collages.  Love to read when not too tired and must have loud music playing off and on numerous times during the day.  Really miss going out and watching live bands and seeing the last flick on the big screen.  I am a totally mad Alias fan and also love the West Wing and Oz.  So you can probably gather I have replaced my love of going to the movies with becoming a couch potato and watching these series over and over again on DVD original.gif

Edited to say I have lived in Sydney, Perth, Melbourne and Canberra.  Spring is the time of year DH and I really miss Melbourne as we were regulars of the Spring Racing Carnival.  Just not the same watching it on TV sad.gif

I was enjoying reading about everyone else so much that it seems I forgot to post!

About me:

I'm 29, and live with my gorgeous fella in Palmerston.  I'm a stay at home mum (mostly) with my Christmas Day DD who is now nearly 10 months.

I LOVE chocolate, children and cuddles.
I'M PROUD that I do a good job of keeping in touch with family in other locations.
I DEFINITELY want more children (and soon!) and am going to try for a home birth next time.
I'M GETTING DESPERATE to return to Perth to be closer to family and friends.
MY ONE BIG LOVE is latin and ballroom dancing, and I can tell I've stopped doing it, because the baby weight is still on my butt!

That's enough about me!

A bit about me: I am born and raised in Canberra my whole life and love it. Currently on maternity leave from the public service (until March next year) and am going back P/T.

Had heaps of probs TTC (PCOS) but now that I am a mum I am totally loving it...

Have been a member of EB for quite a while - just "lurking" - have often thought of adding to discussions but have been to shy to post.  Will have to remedy that!

Cheers

Hello there, it's been a few months since I last posted and I don't think I introduced myself - how rude!

I'm a new mother to Thomas (5 weeks).  I initially went through CMP during the pregnancy but had to be transferred to the Delivery Suite to be induced (10 days late).  In a nutshell the birth was bad BAD bad, I had the works! 18 hour labour, epi dural, forceps and then an emergency caesar.  There was no real explanation as to why that all happened, one midwife said that Tom didn't tuck his head under, the surgeon said he was too big to fit through my pelvis (4.3kgs)...Anyway, I'd do it all again (if I had to)but next time will go in for an elective caesar.  The CMP midwives said there shouldn't be any reason why I couldn't have a VBAC as I made it to 10cms dilated but the thought terrifies me.

I live in Rivett and am slowly getting my act together to come out meet you all at the next EB function - motherhood is allot harder than I thought, I have no idea how you all manage to get to appointments on time etc!  Each day is getting a little easier.

I'll be returning to work in March 06 and I've just heard that Tom has received a placement at the Chinese Australian Early Childhood Centre - thought it would be fun for Tom to learn another language and culture.

As I am still very new at all this I hope you don't mind if I post questions every now and then.

Hope to meet you all soon. original.gif
