Hi Everyone,

Well, I'm back! Erin is much better, thank you everyone for your kind thoughts and good wishes. She still has a husky voice, but the temps have gone and she's so much happier in herself. God bless the person who invented Augmentin! laughing2.gif She went back to childcare today, and should be ready for preschool tomorrow. And I should be able to implement my plan of cleaning the house for half the day and sleeping for the other half! laughing2.gif

Attempting personals...

Barky: Hope the morning sickness and headaches are settling down. I had headaches for the first half of my pregnancy, but I think it was because I was over tired. Still trying to combat the morning sickness - hope you have more luck!  original.gif And don't be afraid to whinge - what is the point of being in a group of online pregnant women if you can't whinge occasionally! laughing2.gif And cleaning for open house inspections would suck at the best of times, let alone trying to do it while you are pregnant!

beaglebabe:   blush.gif I am very embarrassed about my curtains taking 4 years, but am glad to hear that I am not alone! laughing2.gif . To my defence, I had 6 weeks of mat leave planned last time, and only got through 2 1/2 before I was admitted to hospital. Then had Erin the next week. I had glued all of the shapes on to one curtain, so sat up in my hospital bed blanket stitching those on, but never got home before Erin was born to get the appliques on the other curtain glued and sewed. Then my MIL helped by hanging the curtains up, which kind of meant they never got finished! At least I now have the appliques glued on so that I can do the sewing in hospital if I need to! laughing2.gif Good luck with the NT scan!

Puggle: Hehehe! I can see that these curtains are going to be finished by the power of EB support! I am going to have to take a photo for you all when they are done! Glad to hear that the ob appointment went well!

MarlaMoo: Good luck with the ultrasound and the next ob appointment. Hope it all goes well!

purpleoj: laughing2.gif Erin was 3.2kg at 37 weeks, so one of the first things I asked the ob this time was "how big would she have been if she'd gone to her due date?" Turns out that she probably wouldn't have been too huge, and it sounds as though this one might even be smaller.

Savvy: Things are so close for you! Good Luck! And I can understand your excitement/impatience - I am getting to that point too and I still have a few weeks to go! Can't wait to hear your news!

sot: Sorry - can't help you with the cot. We ended up with a friend's cot for Erin, and we will be using that one again. And yeah, I amnot normally good at being in bed before 10pm. I seem to dilly dally too much. Although, last night I was stuffed so I was in bed at 8pm! Hope all is well!

Renee: My goodness - how scary for you! I am glad to hear that things worked out for you! It's almost time for you - hope it all goes well! Can't wait to hear your news!

Sorry if I have missed anyone, but hope that everyone is doing really well!

All is going well with us - although I am thinking that I may be getting Erin's virus sad.gif I am seeing the ob tomorrow, and have another ultrasound on Monday to check growth. Everything seems to be going well, so I guess I will see what the ob has to say tomorrow!

Better go - need to get Erin's lunch ready for preschool tomorrow.

Cheers,
Deanne.

Hi All,

Just  ph34r.gif to see if there was any news. I'm getting very excited, because there should be some baby news here soon! wub.gif

Anyway, I am rambling - wanted to bump us up.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Take care,
Deanne.

No news here  sad.gif

Saw Dr Dreher today - everything is all good, and bubs head is still down, although not engaged at all....

I have a feeling that I will be making my next appointment! (next Fri 30 May) Dr D seemed to agree with me!

Evening all,

A quick post before I collapse into bed.  Toby was up last night at 10pm, 11pm and 12am, and then started his day at 5am!  So, so tired....

Renee - fingers crossed that you won't make your next appointment.  Good news that bub is still head down - your hospital stay didn't sound like much fun at all!  I've heard that subsequent babies often don't engage until during labour - not sure how true it is though.

Deanne - I'm hanging out for some news too!  I love hearing of new arrivals.  How are those curtains going?

Jo - Yay on not being sick.  Hope Ella's sleep continues to improve.

Peta - my advice on cots is that a drop side can be very helpful when trying to get a sleeping baby into bed without waking it - try them out and see how easy they are to operate one handed (imagine juggling a sleeping baby in the other arm, madly hoping it doesn't wake so you can crawl back ino your nice warm bed  Posted Image  ).  Also, a cot that has two or three levels for the matress is useful - so when they are very little you don't have to bend down so far to get them in.  As they grow and can sit and stand up, you drop te base down a level, so they can't climb/fall out.

Savvy and Puggle - I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling less excited about the second baby.  Even seeing the NT scan didn't make it feel all that real.  I'm looking forward to my belly growing a bit, and feeling the baby move.  I loved the second trimester with Toby.

mariamsmum - thanks honey.  I have my fingers crossed that you will be joining us i here before too long, and not just lurking  Posted Image

Barky - any luck with your house over the weekend?  We found a house we really like on Saturday.  It's being auctioned though, and I hate auctions.  I don't want to get all excited about it, incase it sells above our limit.  And DH will be overseas when the auction is on, so I'll have to bid by myself - very scary!

Us - had my NT scan yesterday.  Won't get full results until the bloods are in next week, but the scan itself looked good.  It's such a strange experience to see the baby moving around but not be able to feel it.

Renee: Here's hoping that you don't make your next appointment!

Michelle: I have had two slack days with the curtains! I am about to clean up my house, so hopefully I can sit on my butt and do the curtains tomorrow! Glad to hear that the NT scan seems to have gone well! Sorry that you didn't get much sleep last night. I hope that Toby sleeps tonight so that you can! hands.gif

I saw the obstetrician yesterday. He was quite happy, and said that everything looks stable. The BP tablets are doing the trick, and the GD seems to be playing the game fairly well. So, he said that everything is still on track for me to be induced at 38 weeks. That's 2 1/2-3 weeks away!  ohmy.gif I can't believe that this pregnancy is nearly over! Anyway, I have yet another growth scan on Monday (thank goodness for teh Medicare threshold!) and another ob visit on Tuesday. Seeing the endocrinologist tomorrow.

Well, must go.

Take care,
Deanne.

Edited because I stuffed up the font.

Hi original.gif

Still here and very pregnant tongue.gif I had what I thought was some serious contractions last night, they were painful and regular for most of the night but stopped at about 4 (just in time for a couple of hours sleep!!) I've had niggles on and off all day but nothing that makes me think I'm about to have this baby tonight. I know they come when they are ready but I keep telling this baby I AM ready now!!

I'm in the process of trying to get DD to sleep wacko.gif She is 5 1/2, always been a shocker of a sleeper but the last few weeks it's almost like it's getting worse. She got up last night at 1am, went to the toilet and then turned her light on and starting reading. I left her and then 15 mins later she went back to sleep but then was awake at 5!! I have started a star chart so I am hoping it works.

Michelle - I agree, it's a wierd experience seeing bub at 12 wks doing all sorts of things and not being able to feel it, still spins me out 3rd time around!! Glad all looked good with your scan.

renee - glad all went well with your appointment original.gif I have a feeling I'll be making my midwife appointment next wednesday the 28th as well!!

Darnie - So glad Erin is getting better - fingers crossed that you don't come down with it now. I hope you enjoy the next couple of weeks of cleaning and sleeping!! Goodluck with your growth scan on Monday original.gif

Jo - YAY for not being sick - here is hoping you are over the worse of the morning sickness original.gif I have a few friends that have also had tiny bubs - makes my babies look about 3 months at birth laughing2.gif

Sot - apparently spicy food can help bring on labour but certainly hasn't worked for me this time around!! I love the look of the sleigh cots. I have a cot from Toys R Us also. I agree with Michelle, make sure you can get the side down easily and the that the base can go up and down depending on the age of bubs. When I first put bub in the cot I have the base up so it's easier to get to bub and once they are older, sitting up etc you can put the base down and the side up (hope that makes sense!!)

Hi to everyone else and hope everyone is well original.gif

Hi ladies, just wanted to introduce myself.

I've technically been in the ACT area for over a year (Jerra) but due to working at home and planning a wedding (and being ill) I still feel like a stranger. I moved into the ACT (North side) in FEB and found out we were expecting our first shortly afterwards. My EDD is the 5th December.

I was on another site but couldn't find any other ACT mums to talk to so I hope I have found the right place. While working from home is great it dosn't help me  get out and meeting others and the really bad m/s has not helped matters at all. So my aim is to at least start opening up the lines of communication.

A bit about me/my pregnancy:
OBS - Dr Robson at CJJMC
DUE - 5/12/2008
Family - 2 Dogs, DH and I
Pregnancy - Bad ms but started Zofran so it might improve. Already have a belly at 11w6d. BB's were the first change - they've got huge which is rather annoying.
Boy/Girl - Want one of each but hope its girl first and I want to find out asap, DH wants a surprise (that should be fun to not tell)
Scans so far - 6w4d blob and heart (no sound), 10w6d "squishy" still heart no sound and refused to move.
Next scan - Next monday NT test, hopefully squishy will wriggle.

That about wraps it up, if you have questions ask away. I'll be back to see how your all doing,
mummaraward

Welcome mummareward! I am Deanne. I am 35 1/2 weeks pregnant with baby number 2 but am expecting to be induced at 38 weeks. My husband knows what we are having, but I don't because I wanted a surprise. He has done very well to keep it a secret. Hope everything goes well for you at the NT scan. Looking forward to hearing how things progress for you.

Cheers,
Deanne.

Thanks for the cot advise - I will definitely try the one handed drop side test.

Kelly - sounds like your baby has to come soon.  Your DD sounds hilarious, though I guess not at 1am!!

Michelle - I had my morphology scan today and actually think the 12 week scan was so much better, you can see so much and mine was jumping around, it was gorgeous.  It is amazing thinking that little baby is in there...

mummareward - hi and welcome

Deanne - hi, how are you feeling, glad everything is going well.  It is so close now.

Renee - Glad you are out of hospital, must have been getting a bit stressful. Here's hoping for some news before your next ob appt.

Purpleoj - glad life is back to normal and you are feeling good,

Had the morph scan - 19 weeks today, nearly half way and all is looking good. YAY!

Peta: Glad to hear that the morph scan went well! It is so exciting to hit the half way mark! I am feeling well, thank you. Still not getting my house very tidy, but I guess I will get there!

Savvy & Renee: Still waiting for news! wub.gif  laugh.gif

Have a great weekend everyone!

Happy due date Renee!!!
I'm hoping for news soon  wink.gif

Welcome Mummaraward! I'm Jo, have a 17month old DD and am due in September with #2. I'm also going to CJJMH, but through Liz Gallagher. I look forward to getting to know you!

Savvy - Ella's cousin is 6 weeks old, and already about the same size as she was at 6 months! All shapes and sizes! Not long now!

Peta - Great news that all is good for your 19w scan. Did you get some cute pics of your little bub? Did you find out the sex?

darnie - Thats great news that your BP and GD are under control. I can't believe you are getting so close! How are the curtains coming along  tongue.gif

Hi to everyone I've missed!

Our week had been good. I took Ella up to Kambah park on Thursday and she had a ball. She ignored most of the play equiptment and just played in the tanbark and dirt  laughing2.gif  She did climb the rock wall though, much to the surprise of my MG friends. One of the other bubs there is about 2-3 months older and more than a whole head taller than Ella, I think she saw Ella as a pet because she went up and started patting Ella on the head! So funny!

Hope everyones enjoying their weekend so far  original.gif

purpleoj: The curtains are getting there! Just finished a star; about to start on some sheep. Then I have a heap of chooks,a barn, some stars and some more animals to go! I am still not sure whether they will get finished before the baby arrives! unsure.gif If I ever get them finished, I will bung a picture up here for you all to see! Sounds like you had a great week this week, too.

Me: We're having a nice weekend. About to go out to the Alpaca show thing at EPIC. Erin had a sleep over at a friend's house last night, so DH & I got to go out to dinner. It was our last meal at a nice restaurant before the bubba arrives! We went to Rubicon, and as always, it was just divine! wub.gif Had an awesome wild mushroom thing, followed by duck wub.gif and Grand Marnier infused Creme Brulee. Mmmmmmmmm.

ETA: Still waiting very eagerly for baby news! hands.gif hands.gif wub.gif

Deanne - can't wait to see the finished products.  Dinner sounds yum

Jo - no didn't find out, we want a surprise, until we go shopping anyway, it would make that easier!

Bought a pram today, went to look at cots and toys r us had a bargain... $69 down from $179.  I hope it is a bargain and works out ok.  Valco ultralight - it is so light (my major concern), and there seem to be a few good reviews around.  It is actually a stroller, but suitable for newborns.  I am so excited, now have to wait another 21 weeks!!

Peta: Dinner was just divine! wub.gif Hopefully you will get to see the finished curtains. I am slowly getting there! Awesome that you bought a pram! I bought a Valco stroller when Erin was a baby. We had the Bertini but there were times when a smaller pram was more convenient. It wasn't very expensive, but it was actually quite a good stroller. Like you, I didn't want to find out whether the baby is a boy or a girl. I love surprises. DH is still doing a good job of not telling me. Not long to go now for me - I should be meeting my bubba within the next two weeks!  ohmy.gif  wub.gif

Well, I should get back to the curtains.

Take care everyone!

Cheers,
Deanne.

I just saw Kelly's baby news  wub.gif   Another little boy.

Darnie - sounds like the curtains are going well.  My current 'project of procrastination' is cloth nappies.  Got plenty of time to get the ones for the baby done, but Toby is growing out of some of his current ones, and I've only got as far as cutting out the new ones.  Just been too tired to sew at night at the moment.  And Toby is not very cooperative with my efforts to sew during the day.  Yum to Rubicon.  I haven't been there for years.

Sot - the stroller sounds fine.  Light is good - you do get sick of luging them in and out of the car.  And cheap is even better.  Setting up for your first baby gets expensive.  We used a Maclaren stroller with Toby from birth, and I found it did the job well.  There are definitely times you will be grateful to have something smaller.  I've just bought a Phil and Ted's pram for the new baby though, as I'll need a toddler seat for Toby.

Renee - ah, being overdue is not much fun.  Did you go over with your DD1?  Toby was nine days over, but ended up coming of his own accord.

Jo - I loved Kambah Adventure Park as a kid. It seemed soooo big.  Lol at Ella being more interested in tanbark though!

Welcome Mammaraward.  We lived on the south coast for two years, and I worked at home for the frst year, for my Canberra employer.  I found it very hard to meet people.  But then I had Toby and discovered that babies are a very useful social accessory - I made heaps of good friends, and found that life was suddenly very social!

Us - all good with baby.  Toby though, is going downhill with his night sleeping, and I just don't know what to do about it.  He used to sleep through (well, for a few months at least) but he is so unpredictable at the moment, and I'm finding it very exhausting. I really want him sleeping well again before the baby arrives.

Better get a move on - have heaps to do today.  We've found a house we love, that is being auctioned in two weeks, so I need to start getting this house ready to go on the market, just incase we are successful at the auction.  Just what I need right now!

Just a quick pop in from a friendly faraway lurker  ph34r.gif  to say howdy to Michelle (beaglebabe) and hooray for the unveiling of B2 in EB  grin.gif

Have been a slack friend with crap time limitations but thank goodness for EB so i can catch what all you girls have been up to.

Hi All,

Just thought I'd pop in and say hi. No news from Renee yet? hands.gif

Had my ob appointment today. All is ok. The baby's growth has moved up a percentile or two, but it's still ok. Of course, the head circumference continues to move through the percentiles and is now at the 75th!  ohmy.gif

I am no longer having the fortnightly scans, since he is expecting to induce me next fortnight! ohmy.gif Instead, I am having twice weekly CTGs at Calvary - Wed & Sat until the baby is born. He has mentioned the date that he will be inducing me - assuming nothing happens in the mean time. We are going to keep it a secret. We've told one friend, since she will most likely be looking after Erin, but are not telling anyone apart from that - not even family. All of our family are interstate and I don't want people worrying or phoning while I am trying to give birth! So it's all starting to feel real!

Better get back to de-feraling my house.

Take care everyone!

Cheers,
Deanne.

Hello all,

Savvy-congrats on the birth of your new son Ryder. Can't wait to see some pics

Darnie- sounds like you don't have much more waiting to do. I know what you mean about deferaling the house. Mine is in a state too. Why can't children pick up after themselves lol.

Beaglebabe- auctions are so stressful aren't they. We look like we have a buyer for our house and I am not looking forward to all the packing etc that comes with it.

Hi to everyone else

me- thank goodness that m/s is starting to ease and I have my appetite back now. I just want to eat all day. I will have my scan soon so hopefully everything will be fine. Anyway have a good day.

Deanne - how exciting to have a date.  I went to the ob today and two women were talking about how they had just put the carseats in...  Problem was they were tiny, I'm already half way to the size they are and I've just started!!

Eileen - great to hear the house sold.  I'm also moving at the beginning of July, though just local so hopefully an easy pack..

Michelle - what sort of cloth nappies do you make?  I am  wanting to use cloth so your expertise would be appreciated.

Renee
- no news yet?

Hey everyone,

Lots of exciting times for alot of people at the moment! Just curious how far along where you or do you plan to be, when you start setting baby stuff up? I'm only half way but starting to get the urge to put the bassinet in my rom but think that poor old DH might have a bit of a heartattack!? We only have a 3 b/room house sothe boys will be sharing when baby arrives, so i dont even have a 'baby' room that i can do stuff to!! And i might not for a while coz i'm sad   sad.gif  that the boys have to give up their own personal room/space so i will be leaving themas is for quite ahwhile!!

Hi all

I've been AWOL for a while... We all had colds, then the girls both had conjunctivitis, then I got sinusitis, and I've been to Adelaide and Brisbane for work...  wacko.gif  I'm hoping for a quiet few weeks to recover!!

Pregnancy is still ticking along, no major issues, just slowly getting sick of it  laughing2.gif I hate that I can't cuddle the girls on my lap properly, because it is just too uncomfortable.  And of course Zahra is clingy as anything and just wants cuddles all the time  blink.gif

Its Zahra's birthday tomorrow, so we are off to the Botanical Gardens for a picnic - DH has the day off work too yay!  And we are being invaded by the inlaws from interstate at the weekend for her party.  Just another 7 people to feed and find beds for....!!  rolleyes.gif

Sorry for no personals.  Will be back later when life slows down.  Maybe in a month when I've finished work - not that I'm counting down or anything  tongue.gif
