Bunnings! At 39 weeks. And it gushed for ages...at least 3 hours later I still had to walk around the hospital with a towel between my legs. Ruined my favourite pair of shoes.

I'm 33 weeks PG with #2 and I'm not brave enough to go near Bunnings now!!!

I'm so surprised how few people have theirs break away from the bed or hospital!

I was on EB reading a forum about where people were when their waters broke..... Yes I'm serious!

I was getting scared from hearing the word 'gush' so many times, so I got up to go to the loo, and ..... GUSH!

# 1, on the toilet.  laughing2.gif  I was half asleep still, it took me until a few hours later (after going back to bed) to twig that it was more than just going to the toilet... she was delivered 38 hours later.

# 2, at hospital, a few mins before he was delivered aparently, not that I noticed!

On the bed in the birth centre, after 12-13 hours of labour, when the midwife deliberately broke them in an attempt to speed things up...... ouch.

I have had 3 kids   bbaby.gif
1st was broken by the doctor - she was wearing gumboots!!
2nd was by the midwife at hospital.
3rd was after I had a rest and got up (at home)- it flowed (and kept on going for a day) - no labour started so a day later I was induced.

on my knees on the bed in the labour ward. Once they'd broken we saw bub was crowning, she almost arrived in the bag!

Conveniently I was sitting on the toilet!!!

Had to pee so got out of bed, pee'd and as I reached for the loo paper my waters broke.  Very neat and tidy.

in the birth centre spa- i had pushed them out whole before DS oomg.gif and the midwife broke them to allow DS to continue down- it felt like a plastic bag full of water between my legs unsure.gif

I had taken caster oil to induce labour - a couple of people had told me that if the baby was ready it would hurry things along, and if the baby wasn't ready, it wouldn't do a thing, including any harm.

So I took the highest recommendation - 60mls! and 2 hours later I started running to the toilet, 3 hours after that I realised I was having contractions....

My waters broke as soon as the very first episode of Top Gear Australia finished... I felt like I'd wet myself  oomg.gif- I stood up from the couch and ran to the vinyl floor and then WHOOSH! it all came out! fortunately it was clear... so off to the hospital we went.

all the best with yours!

DD - were broken for me in hospital after being in early labour for 24+ hours

DS - hind waters broke at home in bed - just made a pop and and a small gush when laying down.  Forewaters were broken in hospital with a huge gush.  The midwife didn't believe me when I told her how much it gushed again after she had just mopped it up (sorry for TMI)

Never had mine break unexpectidly
1st broken by midwife (it took a few tries, tough membranes) the other 3 were all born waters intact!
I expect the same this time.
