Calm-
I used CalmBirth techniques throughout labour, staying focused until transition when I used some gas.

Supported-
My husband was a fantastic support. Back rubs, positive words, helping me in the shower, holding me up, you name it he did it.

Empowering -
I worked really hard to birth my baby calmly and felt proud of my body (and my mind!) when our beautiful boy was born.

DD1 (induced at 37 weeks due to p/e, 4 hr 21 min labour when it finally started, 1 hr 10 mins pushing, no pain relief)
scary First labour, didn't know what to expect
exciting Couldn't wait to be a Mum
fun I was laughing and joking right up to her birth and solved a puzzle on Wheel of Fortune 10 mins before she arrived.

DD2 (induced at 38 weeks due to PIH & GD, 1 hr 41 min labour when it finally started, 6 mins pushing, no pain relief)
exciting I couldn't wait to meet my new baby. DH knew what she was and I didn't, so I couldn't wait to find out what she was and whether DH really did have it right!
fast I still can't believe how quickly things moved!
fun I was making jokes up until about 3 mins before she was born, when I decided (after 3 mins of pushing laughing2.gif ) that I couldn't do it any more! laughing2.gif
intense Sorry, that's 4 words, but it was way more intense than my first labour.

DD- long, painful, gorgeous  wub.gif

I had pre labour for the day before and slept a few hours in the 48hrs leading up to her birth and she was 10 days overdue so long lead up, she was posterior so painful, she also got stuck and they tried a ventouse but i managed to push her out before a cs was needed, gorgeous- she was totally gorgeous with a cute button nose and i couldn't take my eyes off her  wub.gif

DS- quick, intense, perfect  wub.gif

I was induced with him at 37wks 6days, waters broken after 9am after a chat about positions we would use if he got stuck and he was born before midday, intense the labour was very intense but great and so was the gas this time round lol, perfect as ds was perfect, i had a great recovery and was on a excellent natural high and he didn't need scn as his blood sugars were good.
