Hello I am very interested in becoming a merchandiser for any company just wondering if anyone knows of any jobs going within companies, or if you work for a merchandising company how did you get your job. Any hints/tips would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Tina,

I have never worked as a merchandiser but have known people who have.  The best thing to do first is to contact the company directly, and they will either tell you if they recruit themselves or use an agency.

Hope this helps.

Hi
I have been a sales rep/merchandiser...I think working in  a retail environment is really important and obvioulsy havinfg a creative flair, although most brands have a set way of doing things. I think there is a retail course in Sydney City that also specialises in merchansinding courses..might be worth a try.
Good luck

TAFE used to have a Visual Merchandising course.. not sure if they still do. May be worth a look though.  I did it years ago (my parents made me do it).. but I had no desire to work in the industry so never followed up on it.

good luck
