Hi All,

Just a quick one to check up on Cathy!

Not much to report here, finished full time work on Friday, doing 3 days next week and hopefully the week after, then with any luck have 2 clear weeks til the wriggler arrives. Although keep getting told I won't last that long!  lol Oh well guess we'll see.

Just realised the Girl I had arranged to keep you guys in contact has been having a few problems with her pregnancy and didn't give you the news.   I'll copy the October post from last night. Long story short  - Isabella Mary born 00:50 28th September 50.5cm 3.820 grams..

I came home from hospital yesterday.. other than being awake from 11:30 pm til 5am she has slept most of the time...Will post a photo once I work it out...

- Baby's name - Isabella Mary
- Born to - Cathy
- Due date  5th October ( adjusted)
- Birth date 28th September
- Weight in kg 3.820 (8lb 7oz)
- Length - 50.5 cm
- Head circumference - big 36cm - date of discharge
- Length of Labour - Induced 15:20pm born 00:50am
- Method of delivery -  vag
- Gestation - how many weeks/days at birth? 39 weeks

I went to day stay 9:30 am on Tuesday and was told at the end go home but it will probably be induced later in the week.  I was happy with that as DH and I had said the perfect time would be Thursday for Friday.   Before my parents could pick me up the Dr. had called my mobile(mum and dad had) and said turn around and go to hospital to be induced today.  I actually went home and finished packing my bag and tried to call DH who had gone to a meeting when I told him all was OK.  I couldn't get hold of him so I looked for the email of one of the guys he works with and asked him if he knew where DH was.  Turned out this guy was in Korea but got in touch with the guys in Sydney and put the wind up them all to look for DH as I was having the baby. Found him and agreed to meet at the hospital I had to grab him a few things most were packed but he wasn't keen on wearing his suit.

Turned up at the hospital and they didn't seem to know what was happening until some lady walked past and said yes all ok come in to the Delivery ward and we will get you started..DH turned up.

After discussions and confirming Isabella was not yet engaged they applied gel.  They monitored the baby and said go for a walk until 6:20. Dr wanted to break waters but it was going to be difficult so Midwife convinced him just to have a "feel" it was uncomfortable, they said that could "hurry it up"..again they said go for a walk have some dinner come back at 9pm..  Contractions now 3 mins apart but about 30secs and not really strong.  Baby had moved a bit and was engaged and it was possible to break the waters.. They did this, while uncomfortable was bearable and a really warm gushing feeling..(of course). They put in the drip and turned on the sentosin(???). Dr decided to go home as there was going to be a bit of a wait...he had 2 of us going.. both he was the stand in Dr for.(think that was why I was induced that day)..  I think it was about 11:10pm we started talking pain relief.. I kept thinking Epidural but not saying it when finally I said Epidural but gas until it happens.  They told me the Anethe??  was finishing off a CS and would be there in 10 mins.(they have a huge clock in the room)..14 mins later she turned up..30 mins later(midnight)all was in a ready to go so Midwife had a look to check progress. I was fully dialated and with Epidural in.  Ready to go but no drugs.  Midwife said whatever do DO NOT PUSH, don't have the baby without the DR they get upset. They gave me a topup amount of Epidural, so no wonderful relief I had with Grace.  At least the gas gave me something to concentrate on apparently not turned up fully either.  Dr arrived and can't remember what time but 20 mins later.. (epidural kicked in for the pain but still a lot of pressure) He allowed me to push, really weird feeling, She was a little more of an effort to push than grace, DH said he actually looked this time.. so about 15/20 mins Dr said look down..I wasn't sure what I was going to see but there she was on my tummy..  Blue but perfect and looked so much like Grace. It was over,  I had to wait in the Delivery room for 3 hours as they wouldn't let me go to the room until I had emptied my bladder. I had one stitch and am just about fully recovered..other than BP it is not very stable as I need to change medication.  Time to go to sleep before Isabella wakes for the feeding midnight frenzy lasts about 3 hours. My nipples are really sore and grazed, but working better than last time.(Annabel the midwives were really helpful)
Grace loves her and sees her as a new baby doll(unfortunately)  she wants to carry her, and put her rabbit ears on..
Goodnight..Shame about the Cowboys!

regards, Cathy

Hi All

Just a quick one today, have a midwives appointment this afternoon.

Finally started part time this week, so have Tuesday and Thursday off for this week and next, then full leave!

Congratulations to Cathy and family on the arrival of Isabella!

Starting to get scarey now! Only 3.5 weeks to go (in theory).

Hope everyone else is happy and healthy, or at least feeling better.

Must run.

Stay Strong! Think Positive!

Congratulations Cathy on the birth of little Isabella. Glad to hear that everything seems to be going so well for you atm. So pleased that DH was able to be there for you as well.

Banana-peel - congrats to you too.

Susan - Not long to go and we'll be stalking the boards for news of you too.

Not much happening with me. Still pottering along.
I enrolled DD in pre-school the other day. Was really painful for me to do as I want her to stay my baby forever but on the other hand I'm just loving seeing her grow up and develop into a little person.
Take care everyone.

Just me again.

I know I offered to take over the thread but have had a change of heart.

I've decided to not hang out on EB as much so don't feel I can give it the time needed.  That and the fact I've all but given up on the whole TTC process. My clock has just about chimed it last chime and I'm quite comfortable with the way things are going at the moment.

Maybe someone actively TTC or pg might be able to do the job?

I'll pop in from time to time and see how you are all going.

Take care everyone.

Chat again soon.
