Hey girls ,
Just popped in to say hello and a new thread started lol! I am doin ok, have been keeping myself busy (doing lots of weeding lol) and am taking tomorrow off work so I can have a day to myself, will probably go out for some retail therapy!
I am so pleased to read of everyone's scans and that all is good for the rest of you girls.
Take care and I will pop in from time to time to say hello.
Happy and healthy pg's to you all
Luv Bec xox

Quick hello for me.
all is going well here. I'm still feeling at bit off but better than before.
I had a busy weekend at work which took most of yesterday to get over!
i usually drink 700ml slowly. i empty my bladder an hour before the scan and then slowly drink the 700mls. my bladder was perfect for the last proper scan. i hadn't drunk for my impromptu scan and it was fine. just depends where the baby is.
with the reusable nappies. don't buy a big pack of anything until you have had one to look at! not from personal experience but it can be disheartening if the ones you buy don't work for your bub and you end up hating them (and wasting them). think about what system will work for you. have a look on ozclothnappies. the link is in the nappy threads at the top.

Bambi - how was your wedding?
Bec - nice to 'see' you. Hope you enjoy your day off tomorrow. Take care.
Nikinoo - yeah I swear I have been feeling flutters too, in about the same spot you describe but slightly over to my right.
Cat - I agree about trialing nappies - you really have no idea what it's like until you're right in it! Although when DS was newborn I was just treading water and getting through life in general (I mean just with the busy-ness of it all) and it didn't even enter my headspace to try something new. I wish I knew someone who had used MCN to give me advice. All my girlfriends used disposables. I will definitely check out the nappy link.
Morning sickness has been a bit better (although still - it's worse at night). Still really tired by mid-afternoon and VERY sore boobs! I swear I don't remember them feeling so big and painful last time.

2 days til my NT scan - my DP is so excited he keeps confirming the appointment with my now little bloated tummy.
I am feeling sick this week (achy, queasy and really tired) - not sure why as the constipation has cleared but the body shape seems to have changed overnight.
I can't wait to hear good news Thursday (positive thoughts) so I can relax and tell people as I think I look all out of proportion right now.
Hope everyone is well

Bec, I just read the last thread and i am so very sorry for your loss.
Flutters: I swear I have been feeling these for about a week now.
I have been buying mcns since i was just 4 weeks lol. I have a great lady hear that sells many brands and she has some great advice. (babysoftlandings)
wedding: was amazing, and our holiday was ok. lol my parents are very hard to cope with sometimes lol. was great to see the rest of my family tho!!
hope your all well chat later

Bec- Great to see you hope you are doing okay.
Bambi- Congratulations! The pics are georgeous! We have been engaged for 6- nearly 7 years. Rennovating our house has been put before our wedding...we will get there one day... I hope .
Flutters- Yup have been feeling them also for a cple of weeks now!
MCN's- Would love to use them, but also don't know where to start .
I look more than 12 weeks preg!!! Does anyone else feel this??

we will get there one day... I hope
we planned our wedding in 3 weeks and it all cost just under $1000. (including rings and celebrant)
it can be done!!
as for looking more then 12 weeks, yep that would be me too, but i hear the more you have the earlier you show, so thats my excuse lol
Posted 30 June 2009 - 12:57 PM
$1000 WOW! How did you manage that?? That is awesome. We are looking to have something small and intimate with only our closest friends and family
That's my theory too lol ! With each preg I have showed earlier and earlier.

bambi Welcome back, your wedding pics gorgeous! Congrats
MCNs - cat you are right about not buying a bulk lot of nappies. I researched and window shopped around for ages before i settled on a brand and pattern i liked. Ive made some of my own, but not for a newborn so that will be a new adventure, finding the right size and shape all over again. A project....i love a project!!
I feel like im starting to show, especially in the afternoon. Everything seems to sag and hang out!! Luckily after the school holidays are over i can tell work and wont have to feel like i have to dress to hide it. For now though i can sit on the couch in my trackies and eat BBQ shapes (my current favourite).

Bambi - nice wedding pics. Taylah and Rory look so adorable! Oh and you look gorgeous of course. Love the red!
Showing early - yep me too. With DS I was still in size 10 pants at about 23 weeks... This time I only have one pair of jeans still fitting me, and they were my 'big' jeans!
Good luck for Thursday, Dadingo.

Happy end of the first trimester everyone!!! We're going out for dinner to celebrate tonight. I had my scan and Pokey was moving lots, and my DS risk was "almost off the bottom of the scale". She said everything else looks good and I got some profile and 3D pictures which I can't stop looking at! My baby has it's arm in front of it's face like it doesn't want to reveal what (or who) it looks lik just yet! I am so happy it's OK because I still don't look or feel pregnant.
I got a call from my boss yesterday saying that I was being offered a permanent job that I applied for last October. I applied at 2 out of the 5 sites in Perth for my job and I was ranked 3rd at one of them and 2nd at the one where I work now on contract. So to cut a long story short, the boss from the other site called me today to offer me the job beginning in January 2010. Legally the job is mine without discrimination so I told him I want the job but I want to take the first year as maternity leave and then come back part time in January 2011. I feel like I was stuffed around by their "system" having to apply for my own job which I found humiliating, so now I'm giving them the system back. The job is mine and there's not much they can do about it except work around me.
Nappies I was going to check out Tots Bots (I think the website is called Cleverpants). For around $900 you get 2 sizes of about 35-40 nappies plus inserts and the pants for over the top (basically a whole set with everything). They reckon they last for 2 children from birth to toilet training. $900 sounds like a lot but I figure stretched over 2 years x 2 kids it's not so bad. If I you don't like them you can send the unused ones back for a refund. You pay by bank transfer so you can start paying them off whenever at your own rate and when you make the last payment they send the nappies. I think I'll do this without reading other website otherwise I'll get overwhelmed and won't be able to make a decision.
Candimum what about the Baby Expo in Perth?? Got any details??
Good luck for those with lotto tix tonight!!!

I have my 12 wk scan tomorrow, has anyone else taken their kids with them to see? Its school holidays and no one to look after DD (she is 5, almost 6). The confirmation letter says not to bring kids under 7! I want DH to come but if DD cant he will have to stay with her to look after her...hmmm. She came when I had a check up scan at 9w5d, but I guess that one wasnt for as long.... hmmm.
Aldi are having a baby sale this week starting Thurs and Target are having a nursery sale starting Thurs too.... just incase anyone wants to go shopping! I only wish I knew the sex, so many of the clothes and bed linen are gender specific...
Have a nice night everyone. x
PS. Hi Bec, hope you are doing ok! xx

dueinjan2010- All the best for your 12 week scan tomorrow, hope all goes smoothly for you .
Bellefin- Hope you enjoy your dinner! Good on you, regarding the job. Not very fair of them to mess you around in the first place.
vicki Mmmmmmmm...BBQ shapes, now I want some .
Is anyone else still getting any cramping??? Have had quite a few cramps tonight, am hoping it's just things adjusting in there and that things will settle down soon .

It's quiet in here this morning.
I'm so so so tired. Woke up about 6 times last night. Feeling lots of aching - am guessing it's all the footballing that the baby's been doing that's causing the tendon stretching pain.
Was just not in the mood for work today but managed to drag myself out of bed and roll out the door just a little later than normal. Everyone knows in work now so at least I get a little lee-way given if I'm a bit late
Posted 01 July 2009 - 11:31 AM
It is quiet in here - maybe we are all settled into a routine which is nice.
Kittycat01 - i am glad you said you were achy. I am the same and there are 2 people at my DP's work being treated for swine flu so i was getting worried about it being more than just aches and pains.
I am struggling to be motivated to even walk the furkids today - but I will have to venture out in the cold soon or I may become a hermit.

bambiyour pics are wonderful
i will go and look at the site ozclothnappies sounds good.
If anyone is near frankston there is a nappy shop on Beach street not sure of the name but i am going to have a look there on saturday with mum so i will post about it after then.
Kittycat01 & dadingo my calf muscles are sore as well as under my right foot they feel like i have run a marathon and i have been walking less not more not sure why. Maybe because everything is relaxing??
dueinjan2010 we are having our scan on the same day i think we are due a day apart to? Maybe they will change our dates again lol. I will be going to Aldi & Target lol cant pass up an opertunity to at least look at things to buy.
I thought i was showing but i think its just fat and constipation this is my first so. I said to DH look i think im showing and he said not its just fat my DH is straight to the point I think it was wishful thinking on my part. I did have a tummy before hand and have lost weight. I did gain weigth about 2kgs but now i am 1kgs less than what i started. I piged out on donuts and chips at first then went through a stage where i didnt eat much because i feel quite full all the time still do.
only 1 more sleep till my scan i so wont sleep tonight. lol

Had my NT scan this morning, and I drank too much water!! didnt seem that much but boy did I need a wee bad I had to let some out and then go let it all out!! that was heaps better All seems to be going as planned, didnt get the proper results as a risk just yet, but the operator said all looked good so fingers crossed. He also surprised DD, DH and I with a telling us that we are most likely having a He asked us if we wanted him to try and have a look and he showed us what looked like a little willy (or a third leg), so it looks pretty certain, but he said you cant be really sure til the 20wk scan. But now I cant get it out my head as I thought we would be having another girl....how exciting.
I have been having really achy hips when I sleep, I am sleeping on my side and they are killing me, both sides are as bad as each other. Not sure what I can do about that...hmmm
Anyway, I am off swimming with DD this afternoon and it just started poring with rain...yuk.
Bye guys x

dueinjan2010 I was having same problem with hips (now moved to the back of pelvis). Somebody in the Tips & Questions section asked about similar and a few people advised putting a pillow between your knees when sleeping as it seems to ease it. I didn't try it myself but worth giving a go.
I found it seemed to settle a bit once the baby has popped up above my pelvis for whatever reason.
Sonyal01 Watch out with calf pain. Could be a sign that you're adjusting your walking pattern already to compensate for your hips changing position, especially since you're getting pains in your foot also. If you keep having the pain for several weeks, you should get it checked out so you don't do yourself any damage. Might mean you just need to be more conscious of the swinging of your hips when stepping so you're not making sloppy steps.

Saw my ob today...my risk of Downs is 1 in 5000 or so- so very low! What a relief. My ob told us she is also taking holidays for the 2 weeks before christmas, so i really hope that i dont come that early...i really want her to be there for it all.
Dueinjan2010- when we went for our nuchal scan the radiologist said at this stage both boys and girls have little genital nodules, but they can estimate sex depending on the way they are pointing- boys more up (angle more than 30) but girls lay flatter...interesting. We asked our ob today and she wasnt convinced it was that accurate. But i looked it up and apparently the accuracy at this stage can be up to 80% in the right hands! She thought we were having a girl- so it will be interesting to see if these early guesses are right!
Still having MS- well and truly over it now. Also getting pain in my bottom if i sit on firm surfaces for too long. I have to get up like and old women! All the joints loosening up i guess. DIdnt get this till much later in the first pregnancy...so maybe they stayed a bit loose!

Hope everyone is doing well, not much to report here.... Feeling very normal! Have put some baby things on layby, mostly the bigger items, so I am organised by the time it gets here. Usually I'm VERY unorganised !
I too look more than 12wks pg, but I tend to show very early... even with my first. My excuse is that it's my 4th pregnancy, even tho I didn't get past 10wks with the previous two pg's I still put on a couple of kilos with each of them (and haven't gotten rid of them )
Good luck for your scan tomorrow!
Congrats on the good scan of your little (maybe)!!
I have my second ante natal appointment with a stand in doctor on Fri, my usual doctor is on holidays. Better now than Dec/Jan I am going to ask him if he can maybe use the doppler just to confirm it's all still going well.
Hate the fact that I'm so paranoid after that missed m/c...
Enough from me for now...
