So one of the great tragedies of my marriage is my husbands distaste for seafood. Anyway he does like Barramundi so I am on the hunt for a similar fish to Barra in taste, not necessary texture if that makes sense! I love ALL  seafood and it seems what I suggest (eg. Cod) is too fishy tasting for his sensitive liitle palate  rolleyes.gif

Whiting.  BTW, a lot of what is sold as barra isn't, so I suspect that any mild tasting white fish would do.  He's probably already eaten other fish without knowing.  Might be best not to say so, though! wink.gif

I agree with trying other mild tasting white fleshed fish.  Whiting, snapper etc  The most important thing is to make sure it is fresh.  It tastes less 'fishy'.

Agree with Laughingalong - a selection of what is sold in restaurants as Barra is often Nile Perch. He won't know the difference

Blue Eye would have to be one of my absolute favourite fishes.  I am not a big fan of fish either and don't like strong flavoured seafood.  I am sure he would like it.

I find
Snapper, Rockling and flathead tails all to be nice mild white fish.

I am the same as your husband - so I can sympathise... with him  tongue.gif
My fish of choice if there is no Barramundi around is Snapper.
