Does anyone live in Jabiru or have driven through the town/visited? I posted a thread about the town a while ago but I can't load the search function.
DP got offered a job there once again and it is a top position and there is a big pay. God knows we need the money! lol.

I've been to Jabiru a number of times mostly with work and mostly only overnighted. What did you want to know?
It is a small town - approx. 2.5 hrs drive from Darwin. Set inside Kakadu national Park. Only 1 shop, bakery, newsagent. Mine site is close to town (about 10 min drive) 1 school - not sure what it is like... Croc hotel located in the middle of town, but as it is in Kakadu there are a number of other hotels around.

Basically what facilities are there and what it's like and if the main road from Darwin is sealed etc etc. Weather and all that. Anything! My DP and I might be going next week for a site visit so I can check it out myself lol.

Yes main road from Darwin is sealed - wet season it gets flooded every now and again but it mostly a pretty good road. About hours to Darwin
Facilities... well they have a primary school (not sure about high school), pre school and I think a childcare centre that is run by the council. There is also a service station a medical clinic, sports oval and I think they have a pool. There is an airport as well.
this link may help you
Weather and all that. Anything!
Dry season is April - September... cooler nights, hot days not alot of humidity - great time to go camping and most of the swimming holes are open - esp in Kakadu (like Gunlom falls)
Wet season - October - March hot, humid, stormy - It's not really that bad, most people get relief from the heat with air cons lots of swimming (but remember Croc's are everywhere - if it's not a swimming pool don't swim in it in the wet season!!)

Cool it is a great time of year to visit the top end.
