Silver! Oooh ya hehe

- oh honey i am so sorry to hear your Dad has cancer sad.gif Not nice news at all hhugs.gif I hope he is doing ok, and the surgery goes well for him!! Sending lots of love your way xoxo

- the invite looks great - super cute hehe I was so lazy this time round and didnt even do proper invites  unsure.gif

Jess - personally i dont think games are neccessary at a first birthday. I didnt for Amys (or her 2nd for that matter lol) and wont be for Phoebes. You have enough to worry about on the day. My theory is there arent many birthdays that you will be able to get away with not having games, so make the most of it while they dont know any different  laugh.gif I'm sure the other kids will be able to entertain themselves playing with each other or with Emilys stuff original.gif

I only just got confirmation that i can hire the # 1 tin i wanted. It was getting annoying! lol Kinda my fault though cause i initially enquired about it for the weekend of the 25th/26th of sept, but then had to change the date of the party and the cake lady didnt realise that. Anywho, all is good, so i will be picking that up tomorrow.

Oh i went to Spotlight yesterday and got all the decorations, lolly bags, etc. I think they might be the same ones you got Jess. Its a cute range!!

Anyway, i better go. Both girls are a bit sick so i should get some sleep while i can!! Love to all xoxoxo

bbighug.gif Kylie, i am so sorry to hear that your Dad has cancer. Thank goodness they found it early and they will be able to remove it fairly easily.

Jayne, so true! It would just be nice to not get the death stares form people because the tiny little baby is walking (albeit holding my hand) Maybe she might pop one for her birthday...yeah right i doubt it LOL

Party games, we arent having any games but most of the kids coming on Sunday are older so we have a jumping castle, face painting etc for them. I am sure no one will think that the party is boring. For Ethans we had it at the local park and all the Mums stood around chatting and the kids got to play with the kids, worked out well for us Mums LOL

Chantal, cute invite. I was lazy too and didnt even use pics of Riley. I just bought some jpgs and used them LOL

OMG birthday parties age you a million years! We have had cake dramas, food dramas and now outfit dramas. I swear if there are any more troubles you will hear me scream all the way over in Perth!

Hard to believe it has been a year, so doesnt feel like a whole 12 months has gone by! This time lasrt year we were at the hospital and the Drs were making their decision. Got to ice her cake today, am so dreading it because if i a stuff up then i am going to cry  blush.gif

Just checking in to new thread. Am feeling a bit more positive this morning but just have that overwhelming flat feeling. I'm sure he'll be fine, he's young enough, they've caught it early and prostate cancer is one of the 'better' ones to get apparently. Am taking E and I off to the Lindt Cafe for a chocolate overload to make myself feel better lol.

Thanks for thinking of me girls.

Kylie-I'm so sorry about your Dad hun  hhugs.gif My Pop had  prostate cancer in 2006 and is now fighting fit and going on trips every other week and my Dad had a biopsy and has regular checks from a specialist as he has had high PSA  readings. It really is good that have caught it early but I totally understand how you are feeling, especially being away from your family. The word 'cancer' is such a scary word.Remember we are here if you need to chat or need cheering up and I really hope your parents are able to make it over for E's party  hands.gif
Hope the choccie overload helped a bit!

Jayne-Sounds like you are getting all organised for Phoebe's party!! Can't believe our babies will soon be 1!!

Jess-I didn't have any games for M's 1st bday but will for H's only because I have so many kids coming and I don't want them running feral in my house  laughing2.gif

Karen- bbighug.gif must be a very emotional day for you! Look at how beautiful your littlest princess is 12 months on!! Hope the cake turned out ok!!

Chantal-Love the invites,they are so cute  yyes.gif

AFM-So M has been suffering from pretty much constant ear infections since she was 6 months old because she has an immature tube and being told there is nothing they can do about it,it has now turned into glue ear and we are finally off to see a specialist. Hopefully we can finally get my poor princesses ears fixed hands.gif.  She is now on AB for an ear and throat infection,I'm on them for a sinus infection and we both have conjunctivitis blink.gif  though thankfully it's not real bad,I think we might have gotten the AB's just in time! My Dr is doing some blood tests on me to find out why i keep getting sick and run down all the time  shrug.gif

Nearly bedtime for the kiddies  ddance.gif  laughing2.gif
I'm going to crash early with my book  yyawn.gif

kylie - So sorry to hear about your dad.   Heres a bbighug.gif for you.  Hope his surgery goes really well and your parents still get to come for E's birthday.  A guy DH works with has just had surgery for prostate cancer, had a number of weeks off work and is back & from all reports is going really well.

Jo - Gosh you have had your fair share of illness this winter.   :pray:ing that you get well soon.  Hope the specialist can give you some answers regarding M's ears.  Loch had ear infections every other week till he was 3, he then had grommets inserted and his adenoids removed and his health is great.  I think we have had less than a handful of ear infections since and it has been 3 years since then.

Chantal - That invitation is really cute.  Good luck with getting supplies for the party.  Glad to hear you are all on the mend.

Jayne - Hope that the party goes well this weekend and the cake is great.

waves.gif to everyone else.

AFM - Not much to report really.  Scarlett was sick till yesterday.  Then Piper had us up most of the night last night  cry1.gif with high temps.  She has been really clingy today.  Hopefully she will have a better night tonight.

We are off up the coast for a few days on Sunday.  Should be good.  Looking forward to the break. biggrin.gif

Still having issues with the girls overnight, waking 1-2 times per night, much improved since we took the dummies away, but still hard. Days can be hit and miss, so I am in the process of trying to organise a day at sleep school.

Oh & looks like we will finally be getting our bathroom renovated in about 3 weeks.  Have to move in with mum & dad for 2 weeks.

Hopefully I will be able to check in sometime over the next week.

Hiya girl

Been a bit of a slack a*se. First had Kobies party and then it was my birthday and then Fathers Day and well you get the picture. Cant believe you are all organised for birthday parties. I think I will start worrying about it in October LOL Although that said all decsions have been made just need to get organised.

Kylie So sorry to hear about your dad, keep us updated xx

Chantel I hope your week has improved and you are making headway with the no sleep situation. I remember when I first got on EB and I asked in the baby names thread about some names and a couple of people were quite rude and my first reaction was OMG and I was a bit sad until I read further down at their sigs and read their kids names sick.gif  tongue.gif  So yeah definitely take what you read with a grain of salt LOL

Jayne Looking forward to pics xx

Ok so I will sign out here, I want to watch Step Up 3 but I want to watch from the comfort of my own bed LOL

Can't tell you how excited I am that the first of our bubbas is ONE! Lol sorry Karen, but I'm stoked biggrin.gif

I hope she's had a fantastic day, love her 'triplets' wub.gif.

Jess I'm not planning any games...E's birthday party is for us more than him lol. We are having it at a park though that has a playground, so I figure if there are any older kids there they can entertain themselves on that and was just going to bring a few picnic rugs and some of E's toys for the smaller kids to play with.

Jayne Phoebe's party is this weekend isn't it?

the invite is very cute, well done tthumbs.gif. How did the party planning go today?

Jo thanks, it's lovely to hear a good story! You're right, it's just the word cancer and then my brain runs ahead of me and starts thinking worst case scenario first before I have to talk myself into all the positive things. Really wish these AD's would kick in and help me out! Oh gosh what a run of illnesses! Great that M is seeing a specialist, just a shame it's had to take so long. When do you see the specialist?

Mel oh no not Piper too, hope it's short lived. Have a wonderful time away up the coast!

Naomi with the party you planned for Kobie I think you're entitled to a break before thinking about Levi's!

AFM picked up the prints from the photoshoot E had done a week or so ago...am soooo happy with them. Of course DH got home still in 'work' mode and started picking flaws with the images...seriously, he's the only one with a trained eye that will even look at them! He was pointing bits and pieces out to me and I STILL couldn't see it rolleyes.gif overreacting. They're FAB. So that's Christmas done and dusted! Going to IKEA on Friday to get some nice frames and if I get my sisters pressies organised then I can give them to mum and dad when they come over to save me posting biggrin.gif.

Thanks for kind words about dad, am much more positive today. When it comes to cancer he's in the best possible situation for it and the doctors are talking in terms of curable rather than treatment so it's all looking good. He goes back to see the specialist in 2 weeks time and they should then have a date for his surgery - they want him to lose 10kg before they operate...so obviously it's not that serious or they'd have him in straight away regardless of the risk of the extra weight! All good.

Just flying through to keep up!!  happy.gif

jayne good luck with phoebes party tomorrow, and hope your baking all turns out fantastic  biggrin.gif

karen good luck with rileys party tomorrow too! from the teasing partial pics you showed us on FB rileys cake looks AMAZING. was that the one you made, or did you buy it? hope you have no more dramas, and everything goes to plan tomorrow.

kylie oooohhhh. lindt cafe can make almost anything better. glad to hear you are more positive about your dad.

mel oh no. hope piper isnt getting sick too. convenient that she gets sick just as scarlett is getting better. exciting you will have a new bathroom. make sure you take some before and after pics so we can see!

chantal hope you found some good stuff at spotlight (and didnt get carried away buying everything LOL)

afm we just bought a new mattress! i dont remember if i was complaining about it to you guys AGES ago, but we got this expensive mattress about 2.5 years ago, and 1 year after we bought it, it was completely crap. it had a full latex pillowtop and had moulded to our bodies, so there were big dents in the mattress and it didnt support our backs properly. we have been living with it, cos DF wanted to get one of those sleep number mattresses, but they are $2600 and we just cant justify it, especially with the solar panels, and all the other ten million things that have come up.

anyway, the other night we had another discussion about the mattress and i told DF i didnt want the sleep number mattress anyway (read quite a few mixed reviews on it) and we came to the decision we would buy a "cheap" mattress. so i went looking today while DF is at work, cos he didnt want anything to do with choosing it and i found one that is comfy, nice and firm and cheapish (cost $890 including delivery and removal of the old mattresss) but we still have to wait 2 weeks for it.

im stoked though, cos i am in agony for about 2 hours after i get up EVERY morning until my back has warmed up a bit. i can barely pick emily up out of the cot in the morning. so very excited that there will be a resolution soon.

solar panels are all systems go. we are just getting a couple of quotes to check that we are getting a good deal from the supplier we want to go with, but will prob pay the deposit sometime next week. the credit union are fine with us taking the extra money back off the mortgage, so its all happening.

and i did a huge nappy cull too. i sold all the nappies i wasnt using and am just left with 32 nappies (i had around 60 at one stage!) i was tempted to buy some more GFs, but i am happy with the nappies i have now, so think i will just leave it.

thats all from me though. hope everyone is enjoying their weekends.

Good luck Karen & Jayne for the girls' parties tomorrow, hope you both have fantastic weather and a wonderful time.

Jess ooo new mattress how heavenly! How did you go selling the nappies, did you get a decent amount back for them? I thought about doing a cull but there's none I really want to part with lol. I was going to get rid of all my plain ones and buy some more pretties, but think I'll leave it. I'll need more soon though with 2 in cloth!

AFM dropped E around at the IL's about lunch time today, I just looovvveee seeing their faces when he comes to visit them it's just the best and his face lights up when he sees them too. The plan was that he was going to stay overnight, then they were taking him to see my MIL's mum tomorrow which is an hours drive away, then they'd drop him home about 6pm, but while DH and I were out at dinner we got a phone call to say he'd gone hysterical all of a sudden and they couldn't calm him down. We finished dinner then jumped in the car to go pick him up but when we were half way there they called back to say they'd gotten him to sleep so don't worry about it. What's betting even though he's not home and I can sleep soundly, I'll be tossing and turning all night thinking that I'm going to have to get up and go pick him up at any time ddoh.gif. Fingers crossed now he's asleep he'll stay that way!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Bahahaha I have only just let my 5yr old have her first sleep over at nanny and poppys. Can anyone say ANAL MUCH????

Hope Riley and Phoebe had wonderful birthday parties xxx

#16 koiles

Posted 13 September 2010 - 10:54 AM

LOL yes I can say it - anal much? roll2.gif
Meh it's whatever you're comfortable with. FIL has E all day Wednesdays for me which I love, I need some time out from the singing and dancing and playing with him for my own sanity. And the IL's love it and E absolutely loves spending time with them, so it's great for all of us. E tends to get VERY clingy if it's just me and him for any length of time, like if DH does 2 late nights in a row at work and he doesn't see him, E will just superglue to me and I really can't stand it...I've always needed a bit of personal space lol.

Jayne the pics from Phoebe's party look great, looks like everyone had a great time!

AFM have decided to take the plunge and start my own little Madeit/Facebook business. I've been wanting to do something for ages but put it off so I've finally started working on an idea I've had saved for about 18m, it's a nursery mobile made out of tree branches/twigs with little handstitched felt owls perched on the branches. I've started with a small one last night and I love how it looks, I've cut all the felt just need to stitch together tonight. Am also off to the art shop today to look at silk screens to work out whether I want to invest in one...decisions!

Posted 13 September 2010 - 11:46 AM

aaarrrrrgggghhhh. i just sit down after putting one clingy baby to bed, to relax in front of the computer with a nice hot coffee (and some darrell lea rocky road) and the washing machine beeps to tell me its finished.

kylie your mobile sounds SOOOO cute. would love to see pics when you are ready to share.

the nappies i didnt get anywhere near as much back for them as i paid, i guess i didnt come off too badly, but it was either that or they are sitting there not being used.

naomi LOL. i guess it really depends on the grandparents. i would be worried about emily having a sleepover at MILs.

jayne & karen looks like the girls birthday parties were a big success! and nice weather too!

afm so my latest freakout is that it is predicted showers for emilys birthday party. it doesnt really matter all that much cos we have a huge under cover area out the back, but i dont want it raining on my babys special day.

i am getting there, and i think i am pretty organised for emilys party. i have a to do list that is broken down into days (can you tell im a bit obsessive?)

and i am SOOOO tired today. emily went down as usual, at 9:30 but just before i put her to bed, a stupid truck comes up into our street, realises it is a cul de sac and has to turn around and reverse with his stupid reverse beeping, so it wakes her up. which is ok, cos she was back asleep within about 5 mins. an hour later we hear her stir. we leave her in hope that its just a slight one, and she will go back to sleep. NOT SO. she was getting herself worked up, and didnt even stop screaming when i came in and gave her a cuddle. so brought her downstairs to lay with DF who was watching formula one, hoping that she would watch telly and go back to sleep while having daddy cuddles. NOT SO. she was up playing until 1am, and she still wasnt even showing any tired signs, but went silent when DF got sick of waiting up with her and put her to bed.

so i had to set my alarm this morning to make sure she didnt sleep too late and completely wreck her routine for today, and she wakes an hour earlier than she usually does anyway. she is down for her nap now, and hope that she stays that way. i LOVE LOVE LOVE nap time.

nothing else going on, just obsessing about party plans.

best go hang out my washing.

Guess what??? Forecast now says Saturday will be mostly sunny and has no mention of possible showers!

Probably will change back by Saturday though...

Posted 15 September 2010 - 02:50 PM

chantal hehe. i usually go through 2-4 pillows per year as well. i cant sleep on medium or high profile pillows either (gives me BAD headaches) so have to try and find low profile ones (almost impossible, so i usually just get kids pillows haha)

glad to hear you had the boys were good at the wedding on the weekend. hope it was fun for you too, and you werent just sitting there worrying how they were going to be all night.

afm still busy being in party planning mode. i have refined my lists (LOL, spent 2 hours doing it this afternoon) and went through and got recipes for everything i am cooking, and wrote out an exact shopping list for what i need. i also have shopping lists for tomorrow (westfield with mum) and saturday (last minute perishables) plus a to do list splitting down all the jobs (most of the boring cleaning jobs go to DF haha) DF is taking friday off so will be able to help heaps with the cleaning and stuff.

not been doing anything other than stressing over the party though. i think i am extremely organised now, so i think i will be able to relax a bit more (i hope anyway)

emily had another bad night on tuesday night, and DF had to go and cuddle her back to sleep in our bed, and had a few little wakeups last night but she went back to sleep by herself. i am completely buggered though. i have not slept properly the last few nights (partly cos of cheeky baby who wants to play til 1am and partly cos i have been busy stressing about party plans) so making sure i go to bed really early tonight, so hopefully my body sorts itself out.

Jess I'm hoping to put some pics up tonight of the mobile, I've just done a small one with 2 owls to start with and I'm not happy with some of the stitching on one of them, but for a starter (and something I'm not going to sell!) I'm really happy with it. Have perfected my technique now so am making another one which I'll use for photos to sell and then probably just do customs. Good on you being so organised with the party. I've got to give DH a kick up the butt to do E's invites for me, have been pestering him for weeks now.

Chantal ddoh.gif I didn't even think about scanning the pics to show you guys lol, silly me. Will try and get around to it tomorrow, I'll post them here rather than FB because I don't want my sisters to see them ssecret.gif hehe. That's fantastic Kydin was so well behaved at the wedding, one less thing to stress about. Lol I had to laugh at your FB status today, the boys not getting along hehe.

Hope everyone else is well.

AFM have been sewing up a storm today, feel really tired from concentrating so hard rolleyes.gif but also feel a real sense of accomplishment. Tonight after E is in bed I plan to veg on the couch and finish of some of the handstitching bits.

E is now saying 'taa' but he only says it when he's handing me something and he wants me to say it back to him laughing2.gif ...seriously this kid is such a character. He 'talks' alllllll day long, constantly babbling then looking at me with a serious look on his face as if he's waiting for a response from me...sorry buddy got noooo idea what you're on about! I usually just copy his sounds back at him but lately that hasn't been cutting it for him!

He's gone really funny with DH over the last month probably. When he's upset and crying he does not want a BAR of DH at all. He point blank refuses for DH to put him to bed and if he happens to wake in the night and DH goes in to him all hell breaks loose. But come morning, he wants daddy. Really giving me the sh*ts because it now means I have to put him to bed every night and DH and I had a really good alternating system happening. Anyone else's bub gone through this stage? Hoping it's just a stage!

Hi Girls,

Wow everyone is in party mode.

Miss A's isn't until 9th October so I have a while yet however have purchased most fo the stuff.

Kylie - I can't wait to see the branch with little owls.......very exciting!

Jess - I'm the same as you gotta love lists...makes life so much easier...and I'm sure it will all come together on the day and Emily's birthday will be wonderful.

Chantal - I have seen lots of pooh bear stuff at spotlight too also online...happy shopping :-)

Naomi - How did the sleepover go?

AFM - I'm sooo sore had my first personal training session last night and my body is feeling it today. But it was so worth it. It's my wedding anniversary today. We are going away on the weekend for a night and to see powderfinger so looking forward to that.

Mr T is getting 3 of his 2yr old molars at once so he is one grumpy little man today........sound asleep in bed now though which is just what he needed. Miss Belle is going well and just gets cuter every day....she loves playing with her big brother and i just love watching them together.

Belle's party is mostly organised just have to finalise def ideas for food etc I have been busy making some church pew bows for my cousins wedding and just making a few things for around the house.

Hi lovely ladies!

Hope everyone is going well!! I am soooo releived there are no more parties here till next year laughing2.gif I'm a mean mummy and not giving Amy a party this year. I wouldnt be able to cope with having my 30th in August, Phoebes 1st that we just had and then Amys a couple of weeks after. Oh its DHs 30th at the beginning of November, but i told him if he wants a party HE has to organise it! Therefore we are not having one LOL dork.

Thanks for the comments on the photos of Phoebes party. She seemed to have a fun day. She is such a little social butterfly hehe We enjoyed it too. We had her cake smash on Monday, but i think you have all seen the photos of that too. I am soooo pleased with them and cant wait to get them all. We had such a great time doing them too.

Phoebe has her appt at the optometrist this arvo to check out her wonky eye. No idea how he will test it, but he's apparently a really good one with kids, so i'm sure he'll know what hes doing  tongue.gif

I also have my follow up appt with my Dr this morning after having some tests done last week. So we will see if there might be any hormonal issues or anything like that. And we will also be discussing some counselling etc. I am feeling better after actually talking to the Dr about everything, so hopefully things will continue to look up.

I have owies - i was taking Amy out to the car so DH could take her to day care and i managed to roll my ankle on something and i went down like a sack of potatos! Amy hit her bum on the car, but is otherwise ok. I rolled my ankle, banged my knee, landed awkwardly on my arm (and heard a click, but it doesnt appear to be too damaged lol) and on my hip. Way to fall down!! Great start to the day  rolleyes.gif

Anyway, i better get dressed while Phoebe is still asleep. Sorry for no personals, i left it too long again and was too overwhelmed to try and write them lol blush.gif

Lots of love to all xoxoxox

Hi all original.gif

Kylie - So sorry to hear about your Dad. How's he going with his weight loss so far? I'm looking forward to seeing a pic of your mobile - I can't quite imagine it.

Jayne - Ahh, you're on the other side of the birthday party - lucky you! Glad it went well.

Cherub11 - Happy anniversary! A bit late now, lol. Enjoy your weekend away.

Chantal - Did the settlement come through okay? That stuff is always stressful.

Jess - You're a whirlwind of organisation! Solar panels, matresses, parties....Where do you get your energy?

Owen's birthday party is in just over a week so of course DH decides to volunteer himself on a 7 night camp the week leading up to it  rolleyes.gif  I am NOT looking forward to the next week (he goes Monday). I will have 3 kids on my own 24/7 as well all the cleaning, organising and baking for the party *sigh* He arrives home the night before. I think the TV is going to be on a bit more often while he's away....kids won't complain I'm sure  tongue.gif Of course it's the same time my Mum goes to Europe so I can't even ask her for help  cry1.gif

We all went horseriding last weekend - what a beautiful day out! The girls and Owen went on sulkies with DH and the rest of my siblings and I went on horses. My sit bones were so sore on Monday! They're /almost* back to normal now.

I'm taking DD2 to see 'The Fairies' tomorrow which should be fun.

Enjoy all the birthday plans and have a good weekend original.gif

Hi hot mumma's!!

Remember me?  haha Slack tart is here!

Kylie - so sorry to read that your Dad has cancer, it's good that it sounds like it's under control though.  Hope all goes well.  Ooooh can't wait to see the pics of E!  And your mobile sounds great.  I loved watching your sister the other night, she seems so lovely and happy, good on her!  How is that belly of yours going?  Are you having a better pregnancy this time?  I bloody hope so!!!

Kristy - you sound mega busy!  Horse riding sounds lovely though!!  Good luck over the next week.

Jess - oh that's awful about your back, how difficult.  Good luck for the party, hope all the weather is perfect and everything goes well!

Chantal - that's good you'll have a bit of an easier time financially, happy car hunting.  DH just got a new baby-friendly car too, a dual cab hilux, it's really nice.  I told him it had to have ABS and airbags, they were my rules original.gif

Jayne - how did Phoebe go yesterday?  Hope all is ok.  Ouch your poor ankle!!!!  And ooh, I will have to go over to fb and check out the pics of the party!

Kat - good on you for doing your PT session!!  And have a lovely weekend celebrating your anniversary, how nice.

AFM - well I'm feeling slightly behind reading all about your party planning!!!  I have done NOTHING!!!!  I think we will do an "In the Garden" theme with a strong empahsis on frogs as Hannah loves the Der Glumph song so much, and "In the Night Garden" is her fave show.  haha  I do have until the 7 November though, but then I am away for work the entire week leading up to it, I better get my butt into gear soon!

I only have 2 more weeks left off work  cry1.gif  I just don't know how the past year went so quickly, it only feels like it's been 6 months!!  Anyway, I have at least gotten 2 days of daycare for Hannah finally after going in and harrassing them last week, so that's a relief.  My MIL and my mum will have her for the other 2 days of my 4 day work week.

Hannah is great, talking lots, saying Taaa and Jessie (my parent's dog).  I'm sure Busta would have been her first word if he was still around, still cry lots over my boy, don't think I will ever not miss my little fella!

I can hear her awake, better go get her.  Busy weekend ahead with Mum's bday tomorrow and my sister's on Sunday (lucky Mum started labouring on her bday, that's gotta suck!). Sam has been away for over a week and is home tomorrow, gosh it would be difficult being a single mum, can't wait for his return!

Love to all, have a marvellous weekend.

Love Brooke
