Love pregnancy and baby news
I'm still plodding along, getting BIG and uncomfortable, having lots of painful braxton hicks, and bub is 4/5ths engaged... sounds promising for an early labour but Gracie was 4/5ths engaged from 32 weeks and stayed that way for 8 more weeks the little bugger! So I'll prepare myself for about the same.
Although, I'd love it if he came around 37-38 weeks, I'm just so uncomfortable this time around, walking, standing, sleeping - it's all getting very hard.
I don't remember being this impatient for birth with Grace!
Still waiting to recieve a letter or phone call about dates for Gracie's surgery. Not looking forward to that, it's going to be awful for her, and us
What else? Just getting ready for bub, I've really pushed myself, I've cooked and frozen a half a deep freezers worth of meals for us for after he's born, packed all our hospital bags, set up most of the nursery and now it's just cleaning the house and some last minute things that need doing...
Anyhoo, I guess I should start on some cleaning while I feel half decent.
Joeleen and any other Queenslanders - I'm thinking of you, stay safe.
Can't believe what that poor state has to endure now
We used to live in Townsville, I love it there so much and we want to move back one day... I think it would be so sad to see it destroyed by Yasi

Bec Congratulations! That's the best news this week! I can't believe that Elias is going to be 1 soon.
Marika - Not long now! I remember you getting over it and uncomfortable with gracie.
Donna - Yay on toby TT. He looks so cute in his preschool clothes on his first day. Can I ask why you had to do prac in the school holidays? Did I miss something that you are changing from studing teaching?
AFM - We've just started night training on night 6 now and night 4 he wet the bed. It was early morning and he climbed in with us. Not a nice way to be woken up but still woke up dry this morning. It's his birthday tomorrow so been up decorating his cake and wrapping presents - not happy with DH the house is such a mess and he hasn't offered to do anything to help. And then he told me not to give Alex presents until after dinner tomorrow. I get that he wants to see him open them but what am I suppose to entertain him with during the day - I told him before christmas to make sure he got the day off so we could take Alex to the only theme type/water park in Perth but he said on tuesday that he couldn't have the day off - he is self employed! I am so close to taking him on my own but have settled for the local pools. Sorry I need to vent somewhere. On a positive note I'm doing my first ever 3.5K fun run on sunday and so looking forward to it.
I can't sleep. All I can think about is the cyclone so my thoughts and prayers go out to everyone so they stay safe. I'm waiting to see an update from Joeleen so I hope you and the family are safe.

Bec congratulations, praying for a sticky one for you
cant believe our babies are almost 1, its gone so fast hey... going to do a dinosaur theme for Dane bday party, so attempting a dinosaur cake, i cheated and brought a dinosaur cake tin haha juts have to decorate it, just having a sasuage sizzle at the park
Marika, not long now, i know with Dane i was more anxious right near the end which was all due to the size he was shaping up to be and thinking about Kaidens birth....you have been very busy, time to out your feet up and rest
poor gracie i can only imagine how nervous you are about her surgery..
Sonia happy birthday to Alex today, hope he has a great day, grrrr to DH though 1 day off wouldnt hurt!!
well done on Alex and his night training as per fbok we are doing that with K now, he does great and has not wet the be (last night was night 4) but when he wakes he gets down on the floor and builds train tracks and plays lol so sometimes gets so engrossed and then starts to wet his pants, i will make a big deal tonight about putting the potty next to his bed so when he wakes he knows its there and we will see how that goes..
Donna well done to Toby and his toilet training. you finished prac now?
so kaiden is doing well cant belie he is 3 now, such a big boy and makes me laugh everyday with some of the things he says and does, his talking is mostly understandable but still lagging behind some kids but he will get there... as mentioned above toilet training is still going well just attacking nights now, he still have accidents every now and then when he is too busy playing but he usually starts to pee and then realises and stops and does the rest in the toilet... he was out the back playing the other day and he walks to the grass pulls his pants down and i ask what he is doing and he says 'wees' he then grabs his 'pecker' and pees on the grass
Dane is just well Dane, he is one full on baby, very cheeky, he has been walking for about 2 weeks now, into everything , he is one demanding child but i love him, he is so funny.
I am starting to study in 2 weeks so Dane has his first day at family day care next week, little worried about him as he has always had separation issues but we have a great FDC lady so sure he will be ok, he sees her every week when we drop kaiden off so he is kind of familiar with her, at this stage he will only be going 1 day a week.. see what happens when i find out where i do prac.
anyways thats us in a nut shell, hope everyone and there 3/almost 3 year olds are going well

Well done with your TT Alex, what a clever little chap you are!
We will be waiting a bit after bub is born before DH goes in for the snip Sonia
, we've still got to get through Gracie's surgery first, so when we know all is sorted for her we'll book him in.
Grrr to your DH about Alex's birthday, I'd have been annoyed too!
Go Dane with the walking! But poor you Jodie
- it must make things just that little bit harder now that he can get into everything.
Love your new sig, can;t believe he will be one soon
Hey what will you be studying?
How are you feeling Bec
? Are you starting to get nauseous? I'm so excited for you
Well it turns out that a good majority of my painful Braxton Hicks were due to the fact that I had a UTI. I think I've had it for a few weeks actually... I'm on antibiotics now and feeling much better, thank god!
I had my 36 week app yesterday and bub is doing well, he's even more engaged if that's possible, and apparently he's in the prime position for birth (Now stay that way Mr cheeky!) but he moves around so much I wouldn't be surprised if that changes...
Still measuring a week ahead, My FH is on the 90th percentile, so it will be interesting to see if he's a big boy or if I'm just carrying lots of fluid...
BP was up a lot for me, 137/70. My DR didn't seem too concerned although she did ask how my swelling is going (still big and puffy).
I have only 7 more days, then if I go into labour I can birth at my chosen hospital
this is really important to me so I feel like I'm just waiting around for the time to go by.
I've finally gotten around to finishing writing up Gracie's birth story if anyone is interested in reading it. It's only been 3 years since I first started writing it.
I needed to make peace with it before going into this birth...
Here's the thread http://www.essentialbaby.com.au/forums/ind...howtopic=869446
Anyhoo, best start on some chores that I've been meaning to do for ages.... *sigh* I can't be bothered...

Thanks for all the congratulations
we are excited... well very nervous, but havent had any pains i had when i miscarried, so far so good.
Marika, i read your birth story this morning. Hope Gracies eye surgery goes well.
Not long now until bubs makes his entrance. Have you got a name for him??
Jodie, so jealous about Dane walking.
Elias wont be walking for a while yet, i have lazy kids!
No Morning sickness here, i dont seem to have pregnancies with morning sickness. Infact the 2 pregnancies i have miscarried i had symptoms, ie nausea, sore boobs etc, my healthy pregnancies i dont have symptoms.
Donna, awesome news that Toby is TT. we recently trained Ezekiel he did well but not at night, it will be a long time before he is TT at night.
Sonia,Hope Alex's birthday was a good one.
Today is Elias first birthday, i cant believe it has been a year, seriously blink and you'll miss it! He has had a quiet day, but tomorrow is his party, my mum is doing the train cake that she did for ezekiel's birthday.... he is still a little boy, just 8kgs at 1. i guess he will just always be small... much easier to carry though!
Hope everyone else is doing well... Kristy, Sandra, Sara, mel, amanda, Tash, Lia and anyone else i have forgotten

Posted 23 February 2011 - 06:35 AM
Jodie, doing well so far. Had an ultrasound at 6 weeks, baby measured 5w4d and had a heartbeat of 106bpm.
have a referral for another scan which i will have next week at 8 weeks. are you studying at home??
Marika, yay how exciting, not long til you meet your little boy
hope everyone else is well

Wow, we really slowed down!
Just wanted to say a big congratualtions to Marika on the safe arrival of not so little Oliver!
Posted 22 March 2011 - 09:34 PM
Yes my lovely boy arrived safe and sound on the 5th of March, so he's 17 days old today and unfortunately has his very first cold allready
I had a great birth this time around, and just need to find a second when I can post it up, I will say thank god for them inducing me, goodness knows how big he would have gotten otherwise!
He's just adorble, we think he'll have blue eyes and fair hair which is just so sweet! Gracie loves her little brother and asks about him everyday, and she likes to hold him and play with his hands and kiss his head. When he cries she says 'DOn;t worry Oliver' and tries to soothe him by using the noises that I use
Anyhoo, better drink my tea while I can, he;s about to wake for a feed....
Hope everyone in here is doing well, it feels like such a long time since we've all chatted...

Wow, so quiet in here!
I haven't had internet for about 6 months so haven't been to EB for ages.
Congrats Marika and Bec
Floods - didn't reach me thankfully, though if I had of moved to Goodna to be closer to the girls school it's likely I would have lost everything. The back playing field of their school was flooded but none of the buildings. But the local shops and my real estate office and everything was under up to the roof. I remember I did drive over to get things up off the ground at my place though and then went back to H's northside and we nearly got cut off as the bridge flooded, but we found another route. I wanted to be over that side of town to be safe.
I'm still seeing H, things are going pretty good
We had our 6 month anniversary last month, he took me to the revolving restaurant at Crowne Plaza on the coast. Something different, I never even knew there was a revolving restaurant there! We also went to stay in the moutains at Montville, funny thing was though it was rainy and cloudy and we hardly got to see any of the spectacular views! Just our luck haha. I've met his kids and they are great, we are going to hire a campervan and drive up north to pick them up next school holidays and make a holiday of seeing the sights along the way there and back
We aren't living together yet, he wants to, but I want to take things slow. 6 months isn't a huge amount of time and we have all the time in the world.
My twins are in grade 1 now!!! Insane. They are doing great at school, J got an award last week for knowing the most sight words in her class and being able to write them from memory
Hannah got 3rd in cross country. Wil is just awesome as usual, he's started a new daycare (as his previous daycare flooded), just one day a week and his carer says he's such a calm child and a pleasure to look after.
Went to the gym today, trying to lose the weight I put on over Christmas. Bought Zumba for the wii and have been trying to learn that. Just need to keep my motivation up, that's the hard thing!!
Hope everyone is well. I do catch up a little on facebook. I can't believe I went so long without internet, has to be a record for the last decade
Though I got so much reading done, powered through about a novel or 2 a week lol

so sad that no one posts in here anymore!
Hi to everyone, thinking about you all.
Kristy hope your having a nice trip away
Marika, your little Oliver is adorable.. i have seen photos of you on fb and i think he looks so much like you! Hows Gracie with him? how is her eye now?
Jodie how are your little munchkins going?
Donna, and your boys? how are they?
anyone planning on having any more babies??
Posted 16 August 2011 - 09:51 PM
It is sad, FB has just taken over I think.
Thanks Bec, I like to think that he looks like me, because Gracie only inherited my lashes and nose, the rest is her Daddy!
Her eyes are much better thanks for asking. Her stitches are nearly invisible now, the operations was very succesful, and when she wears her glasses her eyes are 100 % straight! So we're really plased with that outcome... but we've been told that they can turn again so we have to monitor them closely.
How are you feeling ? How is your pregnancy going? I bet your getting lots of lovely big movements
I do miss that feeling SO much !
No more children for us, which is kinda bittersweet, but two really is perfect for our lifestyle!

I am doing ok, have complications though, so am having weekly scans.
I had a scan last week which showed baby measuring only in the 6th % and amniotic fluid levels are low. just 5.5cm with the deepest pool being 3cm.
Now i have had issues with all but one pregnancy so i am kinda used to it, but my levels havent been this low this early before, usually at this gestation they have been 10cm.
So for me that means weekly scans, and appts, by their dates i am 5 days behind, so today i am 31+1.
i have been told as soon as its dangerous for bubs they will deliver, i am so anxious etc i hate not knowing, so at the drop of a hat things could change.
i am scared in case i have a premmie, really dont want to go there especially since i am having a c section and because i have 3 kids at home, so it would be backwards and forwards to the hospital.(which is 30 mins away from home)
so yeah thats my life!
glad to hear Gracies eyes are much better

Bec just came into sayI'm thinking of you and I hope everything goes well with the specialist on monday and bub can hold out a little while longer.
I am clucky as anything at the moment. I've just given up work and my sister has moved back from Port hedland and gone back to her job nightshift (shes a nurse) so I now look after her kids 2-3 times a week instead. My neice is 2 and so adorable and it's making me clucky. Hoping TTC next year some time just want to get a little more weight off as I'm keen to try for a VBAC next tme. Who knows what will happen though.
Alex is enrolled at his Kindy next year. He is going 2.5 days.
I'm usually on FB but I don't post much - My mum seems to want to put some comment on everything I do and it drives crazy. I swear if she puts another comment about having another baby I will delete her. It's a private thing, it took awhile to conceive Alex, I worry about MC and I don't want more pressure or all the world to know when we are TTC.

Marika how are you going with the weight loss? great to hear that gracies eyes are doing well. Ollie is so cute.
Bec only a couple more weeks now if that, wow 4 kiddies dont know how you do it lol at the moment no more for us but who knows what will happen down the track, it hasnt been completly been taken off the cards. my boys are just way too full on to even let the thought of another one enter my mind lol
