exhaustion (ɪɡˈzɔːstʃən) — n
1. extreme tiredness; fatigue
... straight from the dictionary. Your sentence is a bit like saying "there is no water in the ocean, it's not the same thing". My aunty and another family friend both have ME - I thought that the whole reason for the name change was to stop using "CFS", to avoid confusing a medical condition with natural tiredness or fatigue. So now, when referring to the illness, people should say ME, and when people refer to chronic fatigue, they're actually referring to continuing tiredness, not ME.
(As a side note, "chronic" is often misused to mean "extreme" or similar. It actually means recurring or continual.)
Nice blog, Joseph - cracks me up.
