Anything by Bryce Courtney.

Awful, lumbering, overwritten glop. He is one of those writers who does a lot of research and can't bear not to squeeze every bit of it in to his books, no matter how irrelevant it is.

I read April Fools day and really liked it. I even put this on another thread of what are you reading now. So i thought ok, try another...............Oh dear, he waffles on and on and on and on. The potato factory, takes forever to mention one little thing happening ! Thank goodness i bought it for $4 from the Op shop.

I know I should appreciate Confederacy of Dunces but I can never get very far into it and have tried a number of times now.

This is me, I have attempted this book twice but I never looked forward to getting back into it each night so I always gave up.  I want to finish it because I have heard amazing reviews but I want to enjoy my reading a bit more than I do with this book.

Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. I should have loved it, but it was dreadful.

Time Travellers Wife - too hard to follow and at the end I felt I didn't know any more about the characters than I did at the beginning.

Committed by Elizabeth Gilbert,

Pretty much just ridiculed marriage and found biased cultural instances that supported her opinion that anyone that gets married before their late 30's is delusional, doesn't know themselves and will end in divorce (bitter much?).  biggrin.gif
