Dylmah - hope the assestment goes the way you would like today. I too have so many cookie books!! They really are tempting aren't they. i just like to sit & have coffee & drool over them. My fav biscuits would b biscotti & florentines. As well as shortbread. The macaroon book is very lovely to look at but probably just the same as all the rest. BTW, I went out with a fella that was a submariner when I was young... oh swoon!! He was on the HMAS Ottway...laugh
CR's room is pretty basic. i will take a pic of her new bed. We only have a small 3 bedroom house. Thankfully loads of outdoor space though.

Hi all! I am around but busy. Might BBL if I have some time.

DH spent the entire weekend demolishing our main bathroom and it's now back to the bare bones. We just have to put in a new bath and vanity, get a plumber to hook up the pipes and hire a tiler.
Religion- I don't think about it all so no real opinion. I used to attend the seventh day adventist church on a Saturday when I was in Primary School. I used to like the social side of it all. They had bible classes specifically for kids and the leaders made it interesting and quite fun. When my grandpa passed we stopped going. It was the same religion that the Chamberlains (Azaria) were in, i remember the minister praying for them. It wasn't a freaky religion at all like it was made out to be in their court case. DH was brought up catholic. He is of no religion but openminded to it.
Georgia- I hope the assessment goes well.

Mands - 2 custom mould from woodfieldswood.com Feel like forever when I ordered them. Worth the wait I hope. They were a bit expensive. About $250au for both without the wood surrounds. Ill make my own surrounds/outer. The cost on postage with the wood surrounds would b huge.
After much trial I know silicone moulds are best for me.
Hope everyone is having a nice day.

Thanks to those who liked the petite peony nappy fb page, don't know if I will win though still need more people to like with my name.
Busy day/night here. Hannah has the blocked nose still so think she might wake again tonight :-(
Georgia - how did the assessment go?

Mands - I joined/liked the group but it won't give me an option to like her cake. I see everyone else has but I don't seem to b able to.
Posted 14 December 2010 - 08:12 AM
Mands - the cakes are awesome! I have liked both! Just out of interest how much does she charge for cakes????
Nat - the bed looks great! So girly and pretty. I cannot wait until Hannah is older and in a bed so we can buy all pretty bed things! Maybe I will have to buy her a cot linen set????

Nat- are you planning on going into business? I was just thinking with that kind of outlay and all. How cute is CR's bed!
Mands- I can't work out how to vote either.
Us- I finished Jack's presents on Sunday. I finally found a roary racing car at a big w outlet after looking at about 10 different shops. I had only seen the remote controlled one elsewhere. Santa will bring roary ($17) and a lolly stocking ($3) plus we will give him a tonka fire engine ($20) and a matchbox motorbike ($6) that will go under the xmas tree. Now to finish buying pressies for the other 4.

Mands - i too am having trouble liking Louise's cakes. I 'liked' the page and can view the pics. I am going to search back through the wall posts to see if i can do it that way. They are great cakes
Nat - that bed is gorgeous. We might have to paint N's daybed white.
Dan leaves in a week. I am not really looking forward to doing the parenting on my own for 3 weeks.
BBL housework day today.

Ros - with the fb page I had the same issue but I worked it out eventually. You have to go to the Little Venice Cake Company + others tab at the top and then Lou's pics are on the wall and you can like from there.

Bec - figured it out.
Dan mowing the lawn. I feel slightly guilty sitting inside in the aircon drinking my coffee... lol
Posted 14 December 2010 - 09:41 AM
Thanks heaps guys.
Went to the block this morning to see if they had at least pegged the cut yet and I almost cried when I saw an excavator there - they have started cutting
Posted 14 December 2010 - 09:54 AM
Yay Mands - that is awesome...yes??? U were expecting them to start or is that a mistake they started & u were crying out of sheer annoyance????? Hope your happy. I remember when our block got done...it feels like it has finally started...GREAT!!!!!!
Ros - I'm hopeless when it come to crafts & addiction I like to have all the best equipment. Hence those lovely moulds. Thinking I like making soap ALOT!! Business???? Don't know. I throw myself at so many things I don't know if to or not. Ever since I sold my embroidery business I've been lost so to speak. I just can't find my niche. This might b it but might not. Maybe a micro WAHM thing to start. Markets etc. Who knows. I love the idea of an amazig soap shop. It sounds ridiculous but Paul just likes to bring home the money & know his little wifey poo is there waiting for him. I'm just not the full on wifey poo material. I was brought up to b very independant. Tough when 2 different upbringings come together. Wow, big life story.
We r such a girly family, I can't place what Rory even looks like. Great your onto the pressie. Bit slack here. I've got the girls a doll house each & thats it.
How does everyone handle presents when it comes to the man in the red & white suit & family presents. Do u do both??

Nat - I do not think Ethan understands Santa yet so we will just give him presents and then maybe next year we will do the santa and mummy/daddy presents.
I got my last lot of NicNap custom nappies today, I will link to some pics as they are gorgeous! She did an extra one for Ethan too but not sure if he will use it! He will love it though.

OMG are the holidays nearly over yet lol. Indy just tipped a bottle of oil out of the cupboard all over the kitchen floor.. yes I was thinking about mopping the floor sometime soon but not that soon,, agh lol..
Nat - I really think you need to make a trip down here and visit the soap factory here... Its just gorgeous... Lovely people too.. there soaps are all organic too if i remember correctly.. They also make lotions, balms etc. Also a lovely coffee shop. I must admit your soaps sound wonderful. Alot of people sell soap at the markets here but they are plain and boring lol. As for presents I have put presents under the tree for my parents and brothers and 1 each for the girls so they know there is something under there from us and then christmas eve i will bring out ones from santa and us. Indy knows about Santa and is so excited lol.. Oh and nat that bed for CR is just gorgeous!!!
Mands - Yay on the block starting... That first intial paperwork stage takes forever as you cant actually see progress happening. but now its started and the frames go up it will fly by. Have Voted for the cakes too... They are wonderful
Bec - Those nappies are so cute
Sharna - How are you feeling.. Did i read correctly that you had tonsilitis?? Hope the ABs are doing their job
Hi everyone else cant chat anymore i have a little rugrat climbing up on me

I am so disappointed with yesterday's assessment. We saw a different person to who we normally see. Apparently she is a psych that has been doing these assessments for 5 years. The whole time she was doing the assessment, she wasn't paying attention to Dylan at all, she was concentrating on the instructions in her book. She'd read from her book "oh this is the game we have to do next", and the whole time they were doing it, she was looking at her book. So she missed that Dylan wasn't actually playing, he was only doing what he instructed him to do, and only after she had done it. And because she wasn't paying attention, she didn't pick up on the fact that the only times Dylan was making eye contact with her was when there was no talking happening. She also misheard just about everything Dylan said because of that damn book. He was talking about blue garbage trucks, and she thought he asked for a ball. She probably missed the echolalia too. And I wasn't meant to intervene at all, so had to sit there and watch. At the end, she said to me "I don't think he has autism and he was really interacting socially, I'll have a look at the video, but I don't think you'll need the next appointment" So I told her that he doesn't interact with other children (except Mahalia), and he's been receiving speech therapy for a year. So then she says "well autism is a life long condition, maybe he has a developmental delay". So I then tell her that he has already been diagnosed with PDD-NOS by a developmental psych, and the referral here was to have a more in-depth assessment in case it was in fact autism. I also said that we have been doing ABA therapy for the last however many months, and this has improved his socialisation. So she tells me she have a look at the video and see. I am so p*ssed off. She has made a judgement based on her assessment one area (there are three areas that need to be affected for a diagnosis of autism) that she wasn't even paying attention to. The next appointment is me having a 3 hour interview with Dylan's case worker, so if she contacts me to cancel, I will be raising the issues from yesterday, I'll raise them with her if we do have the interview too.
ETA - Everything I was telling her is in Dylan's case notes, along with his diagnosis from the developmental psych, so she obviously hadn't read his file prior to the appointment.
Sorry for the me post. Will be back later when the kids are having quiet time to do personals.

Oh Dylmah - I'm so sorry it didn't go well for you. I hope she does actually have a look at the video then she will see all those things you are talking about. hugs Hun. U must feel so deflated right now.

Georgia - oh that assessment sounds terrible for you guys! How annoying that she was not paying attention! Can you ask to get Dylan re-assessed with someone else?? We had the same type thing when Ethan went for his speech assessment, the lady who did it was a student and she just did not seen like she knew what to do any constantly looked at her book/notes, but we had the speech pathologist in the room too so she watched the whole thing. I really hope that the lady who did your assessment will watch the video and see that she did not pay attention!
Amanda - oh no about the oil, grrrr how annoying!
Trying to feed Hannah so should really concentrate on that :-)

Georgia- sorry to hear that the assessor didn't do Dylan's assessment properly, that's terrible that she has been doing them for 5 years. I hope you can get it re-done.
Bec- nice nappies. Nic Naps are probably one of the few brands that I haven't tried, lol. I love the mermaid one. I can't imagine getting 12 nappies at once.
Mands- It all sounds very exciting. I hope we will be able to build soon as well. We are still looking for an old house to knock down but they are few and far between where we are looking.
