Bec I have had my crank on something feirce.  And I think it is because I usually have a cup of coffee in the morning and the last few, I bought the lipton chai latte and have been having that - so NO caffine.  Mum had W last night and ILs have Olly the weekend so had a bit of me time.  This sounds really horrible, but I missed W, but not so much Olly.  He has just been pushing my buttons and I was glad to have some time without him.  Will is such a gentle soul and he rarely pushes my buttons, unless I am already stressed.

I have a couple of the pink Sandwich pockets left, but not a lot.

Amanda Hope all goes well with your depression and getting the girls to kindy.  I think sometimes people think older people have no idea, but they are still very sharp.  My grandma was like that, she couldn't walk well, see well and her hearing was shot, but she was as sharp as a tack and it would surprise ALOT of people.

Sweet Bubba Sorry guys I thought I told you.  I decided a few months ago.  I loved doing that stuff, but in the end I just ended up packing stuff and shipping and wasn't putting the effort into the business I wanted to and can't put it into both, so decided to shut it down.  The cards are growing great guns, and I have some ideas for expanding a little in the next couple of years, especially with my sister coming back and doing cakes.

Mel How exciting for you  ddance.gif .

AFM I am trying to spend less time on the computer and more time with the boyos.  And the house is once again a stye.  I was supposed to go to a Hens' lunch today, but might not, only because the only person I know is the Hen, and I have seen her about 3 times over the last 5-6 years.

Mands - I hear you, Ethan pushes my buttons so much and I love my time away from him and some days I just wish he would relax and not have the little hissy fits and cry!!!! He is terrible with sharing so we gave a lot of tears when I try to teach him sharing with Hannah! He shares with anyone else but not her :-(. Oh your card business sounds like it is going to get bigger and better! Woo hoo! Cakes and cards is going to be a great mix. Sweet bubba - did you end up with a lot if stock left? I will PM you about the sandwich bags.

Ethan had a massive stack today :-( there is a pic on facebook. He was running too fast and fell out in our pool area on the rough concrete and his hands did not have time to stop his fall. He cried so much but some time on the couch with ice and cuddles helped. Fingers crossed it heals fast!

Ouch Bec - That must of given him the fright of his life. How is he today??

Sunday - oh what bliss. Today is the first day of things back to normal. Paul left for work last night. Its back to me & the girls. I'll miss him but I'm desperate for some space. I have to do some hair today but its one of my GF so I don't mind. I've got a 2inch regrowth myself..lol. Will have to think about hitting the hairdresser soon too.

Hope everyone enjoys their sunday.

Ethan is still in bed so will update later.

My last day off work :-( back into it tomorrow! Now got to get organised to get the kids to daycare and get to work as early as I can, I am meant to start at 7.30am which means I should ideally leave home at 6.40am but that's not going to happen! I told work Mondays I will start as early as I can get there. The kids have been sleeping until 7 or 7.30 am so might have to try an early night on Sundays to get them up earlier :-(

Hey girls! Popping in to say hi after all this time of absence. Been keeping busy with my two boys growing up way too fast!! School holidays are over soon and Tyler will be in Pre-primary 5 days, so Bryce will have time with me at home which will be really nice & quiet. He will have 2 full years at home still before starting Kindy 2 days (or 4 1/2 days) a week. Haven't yet been able to figure out the whole puzzle of starting back at work and fitting it in with school hours and school bus drop off's and pick-up's and daycare etc. It's very frustrating! I WANT to start working again, but what would even fit in with school hours and the complication of living rural.

Hoping you are all keeping well. Have read back a bit, but have missed out on months of what's been happening with all of you, sorry!

Take care all!

Hi Annka, have been seeing the random post or two on FB so know you are still around somewhere  biggrin.gif .  Will is starting pre-school this year going 3 days a week so I will have one day with Olly on my own (he goes to DC two days a week and is now in the Toddlers room - finally)

Just having a coffee before ILs.drop off Olly

Annika- I guess that's why some people say it's actually harder to work once your kids are in school, not to mention throwing after school activities/sports in the mix. Do they have before and after school care down your way? I know how hard it can be living rural.

Nat- Wow off to school already. We have 10 days left to go, although I think I remember that QLD finished a week or 2 before us. I think I will be glad to see the end of the holidays but at the same time I'm enjoying my break from making school lunches, nagging them to get ready and taking them to after school sports.

Mands- What sort of pre-school is that? Is it part of a school or DC or something else? Chelsea is starting kindy next week at her sisters school. She will be the oldest there because she nissed the cut-off by 7 days.

Mel- exciting times for you.  smile1.gif  I hope you like nursing. Have you been to uni before?

Bec- good luck being back at work. Great week to start work with Australia day on Wednesday.

Hi everyone... I have been quite busy since Dan got back.

We said goodbye to my parents... the roads were clear through to Cairns and they drove back last monday stopping overnight in Mackay... now there is a cyclone near them... always something going on up there. Dan, the kids and I went up to the Sunny Coast for a few days and stayed at Cotton Tree Caravan park. Is that where you camped Mel? We stayed in a cabin which was good for the kids... Nadia slept in the main bedroom so we could close the door off to the living areas and Dan and I bunked it! Aidan was in the P&T portacot. It was nice. We hit the beach each morning, went to the local bowls club for drinks and walked to the parks etc. We had a nice dinner out on the Fri night also. Yesterday we went to the Rhymes Kids Festival and it was great. Because we had VIP tix we got to meet Hi-5 and all the other guest acts. Nadia was a bit starstruck but kept talking about getting cuddles from Angelina Ballerina and Stevie. Dan is back to work today so just me and the kids again.

Bec - poor Ethan.. hope he heals up quickly. Nadia cracked her forehead on the concrete path while we were at the coast and has a lovely bruise. Yay on Miss H crawling. Aidan just supermans when he is on the floor. I remember Mel saying that Tom would do that all the time. How did your first day at work go? Was the daycare drop off crazy? What are your work days again? Try to see if we can organise a playdate for our little buddhas. Nadia is pushing our buttons too. She is playing dan and I against each other alot which is frustrating. Lots of time outs at the moment.

Mel - woohoo! Being an unemployed student is kind of exciting isnt it? Have you thought about getting work as an AIN in a hospital? The pay is reasonably crap but you get great experience. Nursing homes always need staff too. I worked in a nursing home for the 3 years I was at uni and did bar work in the evenings.

Nat - I know what you mean about needing space for yourself. Sounds like time with Paul went well though.. perhaps just what you both needed. I just realised that I left the soap you brought down for me in Mands car.... is that where it was? Nevermind. I still have 2 bars on the go at the moment. What amazing scents are you trialling at the moment.

Mands - That is fantastic news about your cards going so well. I did wonder how you were managing the 2 businesses and then your graphic design stuff also. I hope you enjoyed some mummy time away from the boys. Is Danny home at the moment?

Annika - lovely to see you sweets. I start back at work on the 7th Feb and am a little worried thinking about my work/life balance especially as I am going to be doing long days 3 days a week. My sister has her eldest in prep this year and the school hours are from 0830 till 0230 so she has to put her in before and after school care... those hours are almost impossible to work around... I didnt realise schools could finish that early. Hope to see you back soon. How are your lovely boys?

Ros - Has Jack started daycare? I cant remember when you said he was starting. I hope he enjoys it. Nadia still cries a bit when I drop her off and then I have to drag her to the car at pick up time. She has learnt alot going to daycare.

Georgia - how are things going? I popped over into the photography thread and saw some of your pics. Very nice.. I saw mands in there also. I have a semi-decent Olympus DSLR that we bought for our O/S trip but since getting my more compact point-and-shoot I rarely get it out. Did you hear back from the specialists re: Dylans assessment?

Amanda - Hopefully you will get some info back regarding your party plan rights etc. Let us know when it is up and running... I am sure we could hold a party for you.

Speaking of businesses... Kristi and I are about to launch a little venture we have spent some time on. It is a creative outlet for both of us. We have registered a business and will be doing custom/deluxe bon bons for events. Weddings, birthdays, hens parties, functions and of course Christmas. Our name is Aussie Bon Bons and we should have the FB page and website up and running in the next week or so. I would really appreciate it if you guys could come over and take a look at it. We are waiting on our first huge paper/ribbon order from this amazing Aussie company so we can put up samples. The point of difference for our Bon Bons is that the gifts/prizes inside are not plasticky crap and that they are all handmade and customizable. We hope to get a few decent orders for weddings etc and have some gorgeous paper and themes to show what we can do. It is very exciting! Neither of us is terrrible talented artistically but we are both crafty wink.gif

Gotta go, little man has a pooey nappy and I have to wake Nadia up.

Sharna I will put a link on my card site to your business - will go well original.gif

Ros - yeah, I went to uni straight after school - but that was 20 years ago!!!!  So it will take some time to get back into the groove.

Sharna - I'd be really interested in getting part time work as an AIN but I have no idea on how to go about it.  Would I need some sort of experience first?  Also, I wonder how flexible the hours would be?  I only really want probably about 10 hours a week.  So one shift I guess.
Your business sounds brilliant.  I'll definately spread the word once your facebook page is up and running.
I haven't camped at Cotton Tree but growinig up as a kid, we used to always have an annual holiday at Maroochydore and usually stayed in some units near the caravan park.  Means as kids, we used to always play in the caravan park with other kids who were holidaying there (ah, remember those days of freedom!).  I just really like the area although I could have romantic memories of it.  Did you enjoy it?  Would you recommend it?
And yep, Tom used to ALWAYS do the flying thing.  I thought there was something wrong with him LOL.  Of course, there wasnt.

Bec - I hope your first day went well.

Over and out!

Wow Sharna that sounds amazing. Can't wait to have a look at your webbie. R u going to do the design yourselves??? What sort of surprises are you planning on putting inside?? In the USA soap is popular for wedding favours. Your bon bons will do well no doubt. Did u go into the city to reg your business name or do it online?? Your trip to Cotton Tree sounds great. Paul & I are planning a weekend soon & are hoping to go there too. We really like the spot there. I once told Bella the island right over the ocean there is a pirate island. She still believes me to this day...laugh.

Survived the first day, went well apart from being so tired tonight! And the blisters on my feet!

Kids had a great time at daycare, Hannah had 2 sleeps and ate and drank well. Ethan moved up to pre-kindy room but has the same carer as she moved with them.

I am off to bed so will chat tomorrow depending on time and if I get my computer access at work sorted out!

Just a quick one as my kids are still asleep!!!!!

Mel - I would ring the hospital directly and as to speak to the HRNUM - Human Resources Nurse Manager or the HR department in general. You would need to put together an appropriate CV and cover letter to express your interest. AIN positions are generally untrained however as you are a nursing student you are effectively getting on-the-job training. AIN positions mostly involve making beds, washing patients, taking them to the toilet/shower, helping feed. If you are lucky and the nurses you are working with know you are a student they may ask you to take the patients vital obs when they are due.... temp, BP, pulse etc. Very basic nursing but great experience to build on. Occassionally your shift may be nothing more than 'specialling' (1-on-1) a patient who is perhaps confused and pulling at things or trying to get out of bed. You are there for observation only and do not have to restrain or control the patient at all. Nursing home AIN shifts are very basic... wash, feed, change bed linen!

Grr, haha, gotta go now as Nadia is kicking the wall.
